CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Navy women's rugby team (3-4, 1-4) fell on the road to Harvard (5-1-1, 5-1-1) by a final score of 74-7.
"Harvard didn't lose a game last year and after today, I can see why," head coach Murph McCarthy said. "We had a much better second half and we're going into next week healthy."
Harvard opened the match with seven tries from five different players and shut out the Midshipmen to go into halftime with a 45-0 lead.
Navy's leading scorer Mia Young scored her third try of the season in the second half. The Falls Church, Va., native has accumulated 41 points this season. Sophomore Meagan Alvarez added two points her ninth conversion kick of the season.
Harvard added five more tries in the second half and two conversion kicks for 29 points.

The Midshipmen will be back in action in the annual Army-Navy Star Match presented by USAA next Saturday, Nov. 2. The rival match is set for a noon kickoff at the Prusmack Rugby Center in Annapolis, Md.
