ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy men's soccer team (4-6-4, 3-3-1 PL) returns home Friday night to honor its senior class, as the Midshipmen host Boston University (3-3-9, 3-1-3 PL) for a 7 p.m. Patriot League contest at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility in Annapolis, Md.
 
Set to recognize seven seniors prior to the game, Navy will be playing its first home game in nearly a month as a two-game homestand wraps up the regular season. The penultimate match before the postseason, Friday's contest is also a chance for the fourth-place Mids to continue their climb up the Patriot League table, with the second-place Terriers and Tuesday's opponent, third-place American, both standing in their path. The showdown between Navy and Boston is slated to stream on ESPN+ with Matt Sabados on the call.
 
Senior Salute
Navy will honor seven members of its program's senior class on Friday night. Team captain and midfielder Charlie Kriel, defender Rowan Browne, goalkeeper Pierce Holbrook, forward Wasswa Robbins, midfielder Connor Walcott and forward Noah Ward will all be recognized prior to the contest, alongside former player and current student manager Jackson Simons.
 
Holbrook, Robisch Pick Up Weekly Honors
Senior Pierce Holbrook and junior Bryce Robisch both claimed weekly honors on Monday for their efforts in last week's 1-0 win at Lehigh, as Holbrook was named the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week while Robisch garnered the league's Defender of the Week … Holbrook finished the night with a season-best nine saves, as the senior stood tall to protect the lead by making four saves in the first half and then denied multiple grade-A chances in the second half for five more saves … For Robisch, he helped Holbrook and the Navy defense turn away 19 Lehigh shots while playing the full 90 minutes for the 14th time this season … This marks Holbrook's second time in his career winning Goalkeeper of the Week, with his last coming back on Sept. 19, 2022, while Robisch captured Defender of the Week for the first time in his career … Robisch is also the second Navy player to take home Defender of the Week honors this season, joining senior captain Charlie Kriel (Sept. 30).
 
No Place Like Home
The Mids have posted an outstanding 18-7-11 mark at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility since the start of the 2021 season, including a 4-2-2 home record last season … Navy has outscored opponents, 54-29, in those 36 games, with the 2023 campaign seeing the Mids outscore their foes, 13-4, across eight home games last year … Head coach Tim O'Donohue is 37-22-16 in his career at Glenn Warner.
 
Pierce Between the Posts
With 64 saves made across Navy's first 14 games, senior goalkeeper Pierce Holbrook has picked up right where he left off from the past two seasons … League- and nation-wise, Holbrook paces the Patriot League with his 64 total saves (16th in NCAA) and ranks first in the league with 4.57 saves per game (18th in NCAA) and third at a .771 save percentage (35th in NCAA) … Holbrook's 18 career shutouts are the second most by a Navy goalkeeper since 1983, two shy of Brian Steckroth's 20 clean sheets from 1998 to 2001 … The 18 career shutouts are also the 17th most among active Division I goalies while his .758 career save percentage is 21st compared to other active DI keepers … With 64 saves last season and 69 saves in 2022, Holbrook is only the second Navy goalkeeper with three-straight 60-save seasons, joining Steckroth's run during the 1999-2001 seasons.

The current Navy seniors have helped the Mids post a 29-25-19 overall record over their four seasons in Annapolis, going 14-10-10 in Patriot League matches … The Mids are 6-0-3 when junior A.J. Schuetz records a point, while Navy has tallied a 4-1-1 mark when junior Andrew Schug scores and a 3-0-5 record when senior Noah Ward tallies a point … Senior captain Charlie Kriel has started all 73 of Navy's games during his time with the Mids … Navy's 8.64 fouls per game rank as the sixth-lowest in the NCAA this season … Schuetz's 2.60 shots per game rank second in the Patriot League entering the weekend, while his 1.30 shots on goal per game lead the league.
 
Last Time Out
Led by Holbrook recording a season-high nine saves and gaining valuable ground in the Patriot League standings, Navy posted a 1-0 shutout victory over Lehigh on Saturday evening in Bethlehem, Pa. … Following a highlight-reel goal from junior A.J. Schuetz in the opening minutes, Holbrook and the Midshipmen's backline proved stout for the final 85 minutes, as Navy held off a pressing Mountain Hawk attack that generated 19 shots to pick up the Mids' first clean sheet in league play this season … On the first true chance of the contest for either side, Navy notched the game's lone tally in the sixth minute when it regained possession of a loose ball near the Lehigh goal-line and a pass was shoveled to senior Noah Ward in the corner, as Ward then crossed a ball into the box, where Schuetz dove and headed it in past Blake Koski's near side … Holbrook held strong the final 25 minutes as the Mountain Hawks' attack intensified, with great positioning helping him stop Perry Kingson's one-timer in the 66th minute and a diving save on Beckett Wenger at 78' being the highlight of the game, while a leap to send Giacomo Zizza's shot over the cage at 86' preserved the shutout for the Navy backstop.
 
Scouting Boston
The Terriers enter Friday on a five-game unbeaten streak and having gone undefeated in the month of October, as a 3-1 loss at Lehigh on Sept. 28 was followed by draws with Lafayette and Harvard, wins over Bucknell and Colgate and Saturday's tie against American … Boston's 2-2 draw against American on Senior Day saw Aidan Bone tally both goals for the Terriers to extend their home unbeaten streak against Patriot League opponents to 21 games … Bone and Andrea Di Blasio share the team lead with four goals apiece, while Diego Rived and Quin DeLaMeter each have a team-leading three assists … Di Blasio's three game-winning goals pace the Patriot League … Using a rotation of three goalkeepers, Andrew Wike has led the way with eight starts and 23 saves, picking up three shutouts on the season … The Terriers' nine draws this season match the NCAA single-season record, last achieved by both Navy and Fordham during the 2022 season.

All soccer contests at Glenn Warner will be free of charge, as Fans 18 and over need a government-issued photo ID. Fans are reminded that the general public does not have access to drive their vehicles on to the U.S. Naval Academy. Fans may park at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium for a fee and take a shuttle that will run every 10 minutes starting one hour before the game and will continue running until one hour after the game is completed. Enter the Stadium's Gate 5 off Taylor Ave. to park. Pedestrians may also walk through the Naval Academy's Gate 1 or Gate 8. Dogs are not permitted inside the Glenn Warner Soccer Complex.
