ANNAPOLIS, Md. – After wrapping up the regular season with a third-place finish at the Navy Spring Invitational, the Navy women's golf team begins the postseason this weekend with the 2024 Patriot League Championship in Lewisburg, Pa., competing Friday through Sunday at the Bucknell Golf Club.
 
First-round action tees off at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, April 19, while the tournament's second and third rounds will also tee off at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 20 and Sunday, April 21, respectively.

The Field
Navy will be joined by fellow Patriot League members Boston University, Lehigh and Holy Cross, affiliate league member Richmond and 2024 tournament host Bucknell … The Mids competed against the Mountain Hawks and Bison just days ago at the Navy Spring Invitational, while Navy also saw Holy Cross earlier this spring at the Sea Best Intercollegiate … Holy Cross and Bucknell both made appearances in the Navy Fall Invitational, while Navy and Richmond both attended the Nittany Lion Invitational and five league teams competed at the fall-opening Bucknell Invitational in Lewisburg.
 
The Course
A par-70, 5,926-yard course, the Bucknell Golf Club previously hosted the PL Championship in 2013 and 2016 … BU claimed the 2019 league title in Midlothian, with the Mids finishing in second place at four strokes behind the Terriers …

Last Time Out
Hosting the Navy Spring Invitational, the Mids wrapped up the weekend at 52-over 628 to take third place behind tournament winner Penn (36-over par 612) and runner-up Quinnipiac (44-over par 620) … Competing as an individual, sophomore Sue Lee notched an opening round of 77 before shooting a tournament-low round of 70 on the final 18 holes, registering a weekend score of 3-over par 147 to take first place on the leaderboard … The top golfer in Navy's lineup was another sophomore, as Hallie Brisco posted rounds of 75 and 79 to close the event in a tie for sixth place at 10-over par 154, while senior Mara Hirtle also recorded a top-10 finish by shooting 12-over par 156 (81-75) to tie for 10th overall.
 
Navy at the PL Championship
The Mids have finished in the top-3 of the league championship in four of the last five tournaments, including taking home the program's first PL crown in 2021 and earning Navy's first NCAA Regional berth … The 2021 Championship in Bethlehem, Pa., saw three Mids tie for fourth to help Navy finish at a weekend-best 57-over par 921, as both Hirtle and Stephanie Lee shot 14-over par 230 to earn First Team All-Patriot League honors … In 2022, the league tournament had Navy place third in Annapolis at 76-over par 940, as Lee finished tied for seventh at 236 while Hirtle took ninth overall at 238 … Last year's championship had the Mids combine to shoot the program's lowest-ever three-round score in Patriot League Championship history, as Hirtle led the way with a ninth-place finish at 5-over par 221 while Navy posted a 32-over par 896 score to place fourth.
 
Mids Racking Up Weekly Honors
With Sue Lee's first-place performance at the Navy Spring Invitational, the Mids have now captured Patriot League Women's Golfer of the Week honors three times this season … Hirtle took home the honors on Oct. 4 after winning the Navy Fall Invitational … Freshman Emma Tang grabbed the award on Oct. 25 after taking third place at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational … A three-time All-Patriot League selection, Hirtle has earned Patriot League Golfer of the Week honors seven times over the course of her four-year career.
 
Navy at Bucknell Golf Club
The Mids have played at the Bucknell Golf Club six times over the program's 12 seasons … Competing in the 2013 and 2016 Patriot League Championships at the Lewisbrug-based course, the Mids have also played in the Bucknell Invitational in 2013, 2019, 2021 and 2023 … The Mids' last trip to the Bucknell Golf Club in September saw Hirtle finish in second place while freshman Keira Howard ended her first collegiate event tied for third place, as Navy shot a 57-over par 897 score in the 54-hole event to finish third behind first-place Boston University (48-over par 888) and the host Bison (56-over par 896).
