Drew Joins Navy After Spending 2023-24 Season as Head Coach at Siena

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Navy women's golf head coach Kylee Sullivan announced Tuesday the hiring of Evan Drew as an assistant coach, with Drew joining the program for the 2024-25 season.

"I am very excited to have Evan join our program," said Sullivan. "He has a passion for golf and coaching that will be a great addition to the team. Throughout his coaching career, he has gained immense knowledge and experience that will help continue the upward trajectory of Navy Women's Golf."

Drew joins the Midshipmen after coaching the past three seasons in New York's Capital region, spending the 2023-24 campaign as the head women's golf coach at Siena while also previously serving at the helm of the RPI men's golf program for two years (2021-23).

"I am extremely grateful to Coach Sullivan and Mr. Chet Gladchuk for allowing me the opportunity to join the Navy coaching staff," said Drew. "I am looking forward to working with such a special group of young women and building on the recent success of the program. Go Navy!"

In his lone season leading the Saints, Drew's squad posted an eighth-place finish at the MAAC Championship, while Mackenzie Whitney captured a pair of MAAC Golfer of the Week awards. In the classroom, Drew oversaw the duo of Jillian Barend and Manoela Barcellos take home MAAC All-Academic honors.

His two-year stint at RPI as the head men's golf coach and assistant women's basketball coach saw Drew finish as a finalist for the 2023 Dave Williams Award as the top men's golf coach in NCAA Division III, as he led the Engineers to a program-best eighth-place at the 2023 NCAA Division III Championship.

While at RPI, Drew also led the men's golf program to the 2023 Liberty League Championship and was named the 2023 Liberty League Coach of the Year. Mentoring both the 2022 and 2023 Liberty League Golfers of the Year, he coached a GCAA Second Team All-American (2022-23) and Third Team All-American (2021-22), four GCAA All-Region selections and had one player qualify as an individual for the 2022 NCAA Division III Championship.

Prior to RPI, Drew had stints as an assistant men's soccer coach at the College of Saint Rose in 2021, as an assistant women's soccer coach at Hartwick in 2018-19 and as an assistant coach with both the men's basketball and women's soccer programs at SUNY Adirondack in 2017-18.

Drew also served as an assistant golf professional from 2018 to 2023 at the Saratoga Spa Golf Course in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and previously worked as an assistant pro at the Ausable Club in Keene Valley, N.Y.

A native of Elizabethtown, N.Y., he was a multi-sport student-athlete at SUNY Canton, playing golf for two years and soccer and basketball for one season each.
