Midlothian, Va. – The women's triathlon team placed three triathletes – freshman Natalie Wang (3rd), senior Emely Vela (13th) and freshman Sailor Eastman (14th) – in the top-20 of the Robious Landing Collegiate Cup as the team finished fourth overall out of 15 teams on Sunday morning. The Midshipmen posted a team score of 300 total points.

"There were a lot of changes to the course and the race structure over the last 36 hours changed several times due to all of the storms," remarked head coach Billy Edwards. "Our plebs showed the composure of team veterans and put themselves in good positions throughout the race. At one point, Natalie was forced off the road to avoid a crash, she was back on the group without missing a beat." 

Fighting through the conditions, Wang led the charge for Navy for the third-straight event with a time of 58:37.67 as she added 77 team points and became the first Mid to reach the podium at the collegiate cup.

Vela supplied the team with 67 points with her 13th-place finish with a total time of 1:01:14.46.

Eastman competed in all three events for the first time this season and finished four seconds behind Vela with a time of 1:01:18.88 to round out Navy's top-15 performers.

Cashin had a gutsy performance as she recovered from a near crash on the biking obstacle to finish 22nd with a time of 1:03:02 to secure 58 team points.

Sophomore MC Kistler rounded out the scoring with 32 total points. The Apex, N.C., native finished her day with a time of 1:12:02.55.
