MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – The Navy triathlon team delivered a standout weekend of racing, sweeping a pair of competitions to capture team titles at the Beaver County Collegiate Cup on Saturday in Beaver Falls, Pa., and the Robious Landing Collegiate Cup on Sunday morning in Midlothian, Va.
 
"This team can show up even when we run into problems, and that's the sign of a really good program," head coach Billy Edwards said. "I couldn't be prouder of the work from the leadership of our veterans."
 
Entering the weekend, the Midshipmen had won just one collegiate cup race in program history.
 
Beaver County Collegiate Cup Recap
Paced by top-five finishes from Natalie Wang and Allison Heine, the Navy triathlon team edged Duquesne to capture the team title at the Beaver County Collegiate Cup.
 
"Today was a big win in so many ways, primarily because it was against a field with teams we have never beaten," Edwards said. "Credit to MC [Kistler] for being there for her team at the finish after she had a bad crash early in the race."
 
The Midshipmen scored 485 points to win the 13-school event, holding off the hometown Dukes, who finished second with 481 points. Lenoir-Rhyne rounded out the top three with 467 points.
 
In a field of 106 competitors, Daria Ermolova of Duquesne took the overall individual victory in 1 hour, 2 minutes and 25 seconds, closely followed by East Tennessee State's Taylor Walker (1:03:03).
 
Wang led Navy with a third-place time of 1:03:33, while Heine crossed 12 seconds later to take fourth in 1:03:45. Dylan Cashin also delivered a strong performance, securing eighth place at 1:04:35.
 
Navy's depth ultimately sealed the win. Allison Miller (1:05:58) and Leah Norton (1:06:00) finished back-to-back in 22nd and 23rd place to complete the team's top five. Madelyn Berry (27th, 1:06:37) and Keira Wilkinson (30th, 1:07:02) also cracked the top 30, while Julia Lisa (62nd, 1:13:56) and Ella Sims (66th, 1:15:11) rounded out the finishes for the Midshipmen.
 
Robious Landing Collegiate Cup Recap
Navy capped its dominant weekend on Sunday morning, securing its second team title in as many days at the Robious Landing Collegiate Cup.
 
The Midshipmen amassed 146 points to claim the team championship. Queens finished second with 138 points. Delaware State took third in the six-team field with 107 points, followed by Barton College (50), Gallaudet (37) and Eastern Mennonite (13).
 
"We are a team that builds throughout the season, and this proves to ourselves that we are doing the right things," Edwards stated. "This win means a lot for this program. We have one more regular-season race to build upon."
 
In a field of 41 competitors, Rebecca Jansen captured the overall individual victory in 57 minutes and 38 seconds, though Navy's Natalie Wang closely challenged for the title. Pacing the Midshipmen for the second consecutive race, Wang finished just 11 seconds behind Jansen to earn runner-up honors in 57:49.
 
Behind Wang, the Mids utilized remarkable depth to control the leaderboard, placing five athletes in the top 10. Dylan Cashin secured fifth place with a time of 58:57, while Madelyn Berry and Leah Norton crossed the finish line simultaneously at 59:37 to take sixth and seventh, respectively. Keira Wilkinson rounded out the top-10 Navy finishers, securing ninth in 1:00:09.
 
Allison Miller just missed the top 10, placing 11th in 1:01:40. Alliison Heine (14th, 1:02:45) and Julia Lisa (15th, 1:04:11) added solid top-15 finishes, while Ella Sims rounded out Navy's impressive showing by taking 20th place in 1:10:05.
