Track and Field Returns to Action for Dual Meet Against Princeton

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy track and field teams resume the indoor season with a dual against Princeton on Saturday at the Wesley A. Brown Field House in Annapolis, Md.

The men's dual will begin with the field events at 11 a.m. and the first track event will take place at noon. The women's dual will open with the field events at 2:30 p.m. and the first track event will start at 3:30 p.m.

Meet Scoring

Scoring in 5-3-2-1 for individual events and 5-3 for relays. Two athletes from each school will score per individual event. There are 181 total points in the 15 individual events and two relays.

Notes for Traveling Fans

• Vehicular access to the Naval Academy is limited to those drivers with a Department of Defense identification card. 
• All other visitors must either park outside of the Naval Academy grounds and walk through the security gates at Gate 1 or take the complimentary shuttles from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (550 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis, Md., 21401). 
• The shuttles will run from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• Enter the blue/west parking lot through gate 5 off of Taylor Avenue. 
• The cost of parking is $10.
• Visitors 18 years and older must present a government-issued identification card (driver's license / passport) to gain access to the Academy grounds, while visitors 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.


Additional Security Measures for U.S. Naval Academy

Spectators please note that the Naval Academy and NSA Annapolis are currently under increased force protection measures. If you plan on accessing the Yard for sporting events and you do not have a Department of Defense ID to drive on to Academy grounds, you are encouraged to ride the shuttle bus.


Last Time Out: Navy Invitational I

The invitational opened with Maxwell Rubin and Keyshawn Dolford finishing 1-2 in the weight throw. Rubin won his first collegiate event with a career-best mark of 16.30m (53' 5.75"). Dolford followed with a career-best mark of 16.01m (52' 6.5").

Dolford was the top finisher in the shot put, winning the event with a career-best mark of 15.09m (49' 6.25"). Benjemen Schneider won the high jump with a distance of 2.06m (6' 9").

Gunnar Kimball rounded out the field portion of the invitational by winning his first collegiate event with a pole vault mark of 5.05m (16' 6.75").

The Midshipmen excelled in the 800m on the men's side as they posted the top six times in the event. Sophomore Nick Hamby placed the team with a 1:53.69, while Matthew Quispe followed with a 1:56.98, Anthony Engle registered a time of 1:58.34, Mason Wokoma took fourth with a 1:58.85, Aidan Kearns cracked the two-minute mark of 1:59.41 and Cooper Branch rounded out the group with a 2:00.45.

Jia Anderson began her junior campaign by tying the fourth-best (8.47) 60m hurdle time in Navy history to finish second in the event. The Wilmington, Del., native now owns eight of the 10 fastest 60m hurdles times in program history.

Women's team captain Taylor Woodworth started her final season on a strong note, winning the 400m event with a time of 55.43 in the top heat.

Freshmen Jane Phillips and Marianna Pizem had an impressive showing in their collegiate debut. Phillips won the mile with a time of 5:06.78. Pizem won the 800m event with a time of 2:15.63, Phillips followed with a third-place finish running a 2:17.48, adding to her big start to the season.

Navy Dual Record Under Cook

Under the direction of director of track and field / cross country Jamie Cook, Navy is 29-8 (78.4) in duals. The Mids won five of their six dual meets last season, which included a perfect 4-0 record against Army.

Navy split its dual against Princeton in 2024. The men claimed a 92-87 victory for their fourth-straight win over the Tigers. The women suffered their fourth-consecutive loss to Princeton a year ago by a score of 103-74. The men's team has won five of its six duals against the Tigers since Cook's arrival to Annapolis.
