DANBURY, Conn. - Thriving in the first meet of his senior season at the West Point Open this past Friday and Saturday,
Isaiah Drake (Los Angeles, Calif.) was announced on Tuesday as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Gymnast of the Week. This is the 12th ECAC weekly honor of Drake's storied career as he most recently earned a pair of nods in 2024.
Over two days of action at the 2025 West Point Open, Drake competed on the floor exercise, vault and high bar as part of the team event on Friday and individual finals on Saturday. Leading Navy against a challenging field of national and conference rivals, the senior posted scores of 13.35 points on the floor, 13.65 on the vault and 13.25 on the high bar on Friday night to help the Mids finish third overall with a grand total of 309.50 points. As all three of those scores placed him among the top-nine gymnasts on each apparatus, Drake advanced to Saturday night's event finals and he flourished with improved performances across the board. His night started with a 13.45 score on the floor to place second overall before recording a 14.05 on the vault to grab first place. Drake completed his final West Point Open with a 13.4 score on the high bar to win that event as well.
Drake and Navy will be back in action on Saturday afternoon at the Halsey Field House Gymnastics Facility as the program hosts the 2025 Navy Open. First touch of the multi-team event is set for 2 p.m.
