ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy rifle team (10-4, 3-1 GARC) returns to action for the first time in 2025 as the Midshipmen travel to Morgantown, W.Va. to take on undefeated West Virginia (8-0, 2-0 GARC) in a Great America Rifle Conference match at the WVU Rifle Range on Saturday, Jan. 18. National Standings
Navy enters the weekend in 10th-place in the NCAA in the national standings with an NCAA qualifying score to 4712.33. The Midshipmen are two spots back of the coveted top 8 for one of the NCAA Championship spots. Currently, Ole Miss is in eighth with a qualifying score of 4716, setting the mark to beat. West Virginia ranks first in the overall team standings with a 4746.67 qualifying score.
Scouting the Midshipmen
Navy enters the weekend 10-4 with a 3-1 mark in the Great America Rifle Conference. The last time out, the Midshipmen registered a solid weekend in Ohio as Navy picked up four victories on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 16-17. The Mids opened the weekend with a season-high score of 4716 to defeat No. 7 Nebraska (4708 points) and No. 9 Ohio State (4685) in Columbus. On Sunday, Navy continued the stellar weekend with a new season-best of 4717 points to defeat match-host and No. 14 Akron (4707) and the Huskers (4710).
Sophomore
Isabella Baldwin leads the team in air rifle and aggregate scoring, while ranking second on the squad in smallbore. She boasts a 596.7 average in air rifle, while notching an 1182.3 in aggregate. Baldwin has an average of 585.6 in smallbore.
Senior
Marleigh Duncan is atop the Navy standings in smallbore, while ranking second on the team in aggregate and third in air rifle. She has a team-best average score of 586.7 in smallbore, while notching a 590.9 in air rifle. Duncan's aggregate average is 1177.6.
Junior
Parker Haydin is second on the team in air rifle, while coming in third in combined scoring and fourth in smallbore. Haydin averages 580.6 in smallbore and 591.0 in air rifle for an aggregate tally of 1171.6.
Senior team captain
Stephanie Milvain follows Haydin in both air rifle and aggregate, while finishing third behind Duncan in smallbore. Milvain has an average performance of 583.1 in smallbore with a 587.7 in air rifle. She has an aggregate score of 1170.9 midway through the 2024-25 season.
Sophomore
Ryan Wee and senior
Joshua Potts round out Navy's top five in each shooting category. Wee is fifth in smallbore (580.0) and aggregate (1164.3) with Potts (586.1) edging Wee (584.7) for fifth in air rifle. Potts is just behind Wee in smallbore (573.9) and aggregate (1160.0).

John Dely close out the scoring for the Midshipmen. C.Dely has averages of 573.4 (smallbore), 584.3 (air rifle), and 1156.4 (aggregate) in five competitions. Shepard has competed in four matches with tallies of 562.8 (smallbore), 584.3 (air rifle), and 1147.0 (aggregate). Uhrich has notched averages of 567.7 in smallbore, 576.5 in air rifle, and 1143.5 in aggregate, while Johnson has median performances of 565.3 (smallbore), 582.0 (air rifle), and 1147.3 (aggregate). J.Dely has competed in three matches with totals of 537.7 (smallbore), 549.7 (air rifle), and 1087.3 (aggregate).
Scouting West Virginia
The Mountaineers have won 21 straight regular season matches, including an 8-0 mark so far this season. West Virginia head coach Jon Hammond collected his 200th career win earlier in the year (Oct. 6) against No. 5 Georgia Southern. The Mountaineers' 4738.2 aggregate score is second best in the nation with the 2354.0 mark in smallbore ranks first while the 2384.2 in air rifle sits second. Sophomore Griffin Lake is averaging a team-leading 1185.8 aggregate average which is the sixth best in the country. Lake's 590.1 smallbore average also leads WVU and is the sixth best in the nation. Freshman Camryn Camp's air rifle mark of 596.5 is the tenth best in the country.
