DANBURY, Conn. - Coming off a strong showing at this past Saturday's Navy Open,
Brian Solomon of the Navy gymnastics team was announced as the ECAC Gymnast of the Week on Wednesday.
The sophomore from Lynnfield, Massachusetts, Solomon placed first among the all-around competitors with a season-high score of 77.15. Individually, his floor exercise performance was the best at the six-team meet with a 14.0 score that cleared the field by 0.35 points. Solomon continued turning in highly-scored routines as he was just 0.05 points shy of first place on the rings with a 13.0 and 0.05 shy of first on the vault with a 13.95 effort. The rest of his all-around score consisted of a 12.8 on the parallel bars, a 12.7 on the high bar and a 10.7 on the pommel horse.
This is the first career ECAC weekly award for Solomon and second for the Navy gymnastics program this young 2025 season as
Isaiah Drake picked up the league's gymnast of the week honor last Tuesday.
Navy will begin the head-to-head portion of its season this Friday night with a road competition at Simpson College. First touch in Indianola, Iowa is set for 7 p.m. ET.
