Opening Kick
•   NR / RV Navy (7-2, 5-1 in the American) and #25 / RV USF (7-2, 4-1) will meet on the gridiron for the 6th time as American Conference foes when the two square off on Saturday afternoon at 12 noon in a huge American Conference contest. Saturday's contest is Senior Day and the game is presented by First Command.
•   Navy and USF are currently in a 5-way tie for first place in the loss column in the American Conference. The other key games to watch on Saturday are North Texas (4-1) at UAB (1-4) at 2:00 pm, FAU (3-3) at Tulane (4-1) at 4:00 pm and Memphis (4-2) at East Carolina (4-1) at 4:00 pm.
•   The top-2 teams in the American Conference will play in the American Conference Championship Game on Friday, Dec. 5 at 8:00 pm at the home of the No. 1 seed. The game will be broadcast nationally by ABC.
•   The 5 teams with 1 loss and their Composite Computer Ranking (the next tiebreaker after head-to-head and being ranked in the CFP / see pg. 3 for the complete breakdown): USF (lost to Memphis, CCR 20.3), North Texas (lost to USF, CCR 29.3), Tulane (lost to UTSA, CCR 39.0), East Carolina (lost to Tulane, CCR 43.5) and Navy (lost to North Texas, CCR 54.3).
•   Navy last beat a team ranked in the top 25 last year when the Mids beat #19 / #22 Army 31-13 at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Md.
•   Navy last beat a team ranked in the top 25 at home last year, when the Mids beat RV / #22 Memphis 56-44.
•   Navy last beat an Associated Press top 25 team at home in 2019, when Navy beat #21 / #21 SMU 35-28.
•   Navy, 5-0 at home this year, will try and finish undefeated at home for just the 6th time in school history in years it has played 5 or more home games. Navy also completed the season undefeated at home in 2019 (6-0), 2015 (7-0), 2013 (5-0), 2004 (6-0) and 1981 (5-0).
•   The Mids are just 2-3 in their last 5 Senior Day games. Navy did not lose a game on Senior Day from 2003-19. Last year, Navy lost to Tulane 35-0.
•   Navy's Class of 2026 has put together a 26-20 (.565) record, including a 19-11 (.633) mark in the American.
•   The 26 wins are the most by a senior class since the Class of 2020 posted a 30-23 (.566) mark, including a 20-12 (.625) record in the American.
•   The Mids need 3 more wins to reach 10 for the season and mark the 1st time in school history that Navy had back-to-back 10-win seasons.
•   With a win over Army on Dec. 12, Navy would win the Commander-In-Chief's Trophy in back-to-back years for the 1st time since 2012-13.
•   Navy has won 77-consecutive games at home when leading after 3 quarters, the nation's longest streak. The last time Navy lost at home when leading after 3 quarters was Oct. 23, 1999, when the Mids led Akron 29-13 and lost 35-29.
•   Navy started the year playing 4 of its first-5 at home. The Mids will finish the season with 4 of their final-5 games played away from Annapolis.  Â
•   Navy became bowl eligible with a thrilling 32-31 win over Temple on Oct. 11. Navy has played in 25 bowl games all-time, including last year's 21-20 win over Oklahoma in the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, Texas. Navy owns a 13-11-1 record in bowl games, winning 6 of the last 7.
•   Navy owns a 755-605-57 (.553) record over 145 seasons. The 755 wins are the 23rd most in FBS history, the most of any Service Academy and the most of any team not in the Autonomy 4.Â

Brian Newberry started his head coaching career at Navy with a 20-10 record, which is the best 30-game start by a Navy head coach since Wayne Hardin went 20-9-1 from 1959-61. Ken Niumatalolo, the winningest head coach in school history, started his first-30 games at Navy with a 19-11 record. Newberry is currently 22-11 as a head coach.
•   The Mids lead the FBS in rushing yards per game this season, averaging 304.9.Â
•   Navy's 31 rushing touchdowns are the 2nd most in the FBS. American Conference foe Memphis is 1st with 32.
•   Navy has had 7 offensive plays go for 60 yards or more, which is tied with Air Force, Old Dominion, Texas State and UTSA for the most in the country.
•   Navy is 2nd in the country in passing yards per completion, averaging 16.2 yards per catch. Air Force is 1st at 18.3.
•   Navy's 20 first-time starters this year are the 4th most in the country.
•   Navy has given up just 3.1 tackles for loss per game, which is tied with Ohio State for the 4th fewest in the country. Texas A&M (2.9) is 1st.
•   The Mids are tied with Ohio State for the 4th-fewest sacks allowed with 5. Navy's offensive line is on the Midseason Watch List for the Joe Moore Award, which is given to the nation's best offensive line. Cincinnati leads the FBS with just 2 sacks allowed.
•   The Mids have had 10 plays of 50 yards or more, which is tied for the 5th most in the country with UTSA, Old Dominion and NC State. Texas State is 1st with 14.

Blake Horvath (Sr. / QB) is a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, also known as the Academic Heisman. The 16 finalists will each receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship while the winner will have his scholarship bumped up to $25,000. Horvath carries a 3.69 grade-point average and earned a perfect 4.0 in both semesters of his junior year. He is the 11th Navy player to be named a finalist and the 1st since Cameron Kinley in 2020. Â Other former Navy football players that were named finalists include E.K. Binns (2015), John Dowd (2011), Terrence Anderson (1999), Carl Voss (1991), Ted Dumbauld (1980), Tim Harden (1974), Daniel Pike (1969), Allen Roodhouse (1965) and Joe Ince (1963). Navy has never had a player win the Campbell Trophy.
•   Horvath has thrown just 9 interceptions in 258-career attempts for an interception percentage of .034 per attempt. That mark is the 4th-best average in school history. The Navy record is .017 set by current Navy radio analyst Keenan Reynolds, who threw just 8 interceptions in 462-career attempts.
•   Horvath's 164.9 career pass efficiency rating is the highest of any quarterback in Service Academy history with 150 or more attempts. Dating back to 1956, he is 1 of just 34 quarterbacks in the FBS to have a career passing efficiency of 164.0 or better with 250 or more passing attempts. Horvath is 30th on that list between Bryce Young of Alabama (29th) and Alex Smith of Utah (31st). Â
•   Horvath and Malcolm Perry (2016-19) are the only players in school history to have multiple runs of 90 yards or more in a career.Â
•   Horvath's average of 8.1 yards of total offense per play (4,945 yards on 608 plays) over his career is the 2nd-best mark in school history. Shun White holds the record at 8.9 (2005-08).
•   Horvath is averaging 16.8 yards per completion in his career (154 comp / 2,580 yds), which is the 4th-best average in school history. The record is 18.8 set by Ricky Dobbs (2008-10).
•   Horvath's 22-career passing touchdowns are the 6th most in school history. He is 1 behind Jim Kubiak for 5th.
•   Horvath's 469 yards of total offense (130 yds rush, 339 yds pass) in Navy's win against Air Force broke the school record. The previous record was 428 yards set by Will Worth in a loss at USF in 2016. Horvath is the 1st quarterback in the FBS to throw for 330 yards or more with 3 or more touchdowns and rush for 130 or more yards with 1 or more touchdowns in a game since LSU's Jayden Daniels against Florida in 2023.
•   Horvath has rushed for over 100 yards in 6-straight games, making him the 1st Navy player to do that since Malcolm Perry had 10-consecutive 100-yard rushing games in 2019.
•   Horvath's 13 rushing touchdowns are tied for the 3rd most in the FBS. Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy leads the FBS with 16.
•   Horvath is 9th in the country in scoring, averaging 9.8 points per game.
•   Horvath is averaging 115.8 rushing yards per game this year, which ranks 4th nationally and 1st among quarterbacks.
•   Horvath is averaging 8.4 yards of total offense per play this year, which is the 2nd best in school history. The record is 8.5 set by Malcolm Perry in 2017.
•   Horvath is averaging 16.8 yards per completion in 2025, the 4th-best average in school history. It would lead the FBS if he had enough attempts to qualify.
•   Horvath's 165.5 pass efficiency this year is the 4th best in school history.
•   Horvath is ranked as the 6th-best quarterback in the FBS by Pro Football Focus with a grade of 90.3. He is also ranked 6th as a runner (82.8).

Eli Heidenreich's (Sr. / Snipe) 14-career receiving touchdowns are the most in school history.Â
•   Heidenreich's 1,648-career receiving yards are the 2nd most in school history. He is 88 yards from tying record holder Rob Taylor (1965-67).
•   Heidenreich had a career-high 8 catches for a school-record 243 yards and a school-record tying 3 touchdown catches in Navy's win over Air Force. He is the 1st Navy player in school history to surpass 200 yards receiving in a game. The previous record was 194 yards by Cory Schemm in the 1996 Aloha Bowl against Cal. Â
•   Either Heidenreich or
Alex Tecza (Sr. / RB), Navy's dynamic duo from Pittsburgh who grew up as childhood friends, have scored a touchdown for Navy in 24 of their 32-career games (they have scored in the same game 8 times, including the first-3 games in 2025). Heidenreich has 21-career touchdowns (7 rush, 14 rec), while Tecza also has 21 (19 rush, 2 rec). Neither scored against North Texas or Notre Dame.
•   Heidenreich is ranked as the 2nd-best running back in the FBS with a grade of 91.8 (PFF has Heidenreich as a fullback, which he is most definitely not) and his receiving grade of 92.5 is the best of any running back or wide receiver.  Tecza is tied for the 9th-ranked pass catching running back per PFF with a grade of 81.3.

Landon Robinson (Sr. / NG) as the  11th-best overall interior defensive lineman in the FBS with a grade of 82.3. Robinson is rated as the 3rd-best pass-rushing interior defensive lineman by PFF with a grade of 85.7 and his run defense grade of 70.0 is ranked 12th.Â

Braxton Woodson's (Jr. / QB) 180 yards rushing on 7 carries against VMI are the most yards rushing on 7 carries or less in an FBS game since LSU's Clyde Edwards-Helaire ran for 188 yards on 6 carries against Arkansas on Nov. 23, 2019 in a 56-20 LSU win.Â

Jackson Gutierrez (So. / QB-RB) is listed on the depth chart at 2 different positions. He is the only player in the FBS to be listed on the 3-deep depth chart at quarterback and another position. Gutierrez is currently getting snaps as the 2nd-team running back, while serving as the 3rd-team quarterback. Gutierrez played quarterback against Notre Dame.
•   Ira Oniha (Jr. / CB) broke up 3 passes in Navy's win over Tulsa, which is tied for the 2nd most at Navy in the last 20 years.  He also had 3 PBUs against Temple.Â

•   The Navy Football Pregame Show with Joe Miller, Mike James, Keenan Reynolds, Keith Mills and Scott Wykoff will get underway at 11:00 am on the Navy Radio Network, followed by game action beginning at 12 noon.
•   Following the contest, Miller, James, Reynolds, Mills and Wykoff will recap the day's events in a 30-minute postgame show.
•   WNAV (1430 AM) launched unprecedented coverage of Navy football with the debut of Navy Game Day in 2025.
•    Expanding upon an aggressive Navy-related programming lineup; WNAV has added the Sing Second Sports Podcast followed by an encore airing of the Navy Sports Magazine 5 hours prior to kickoff.

9:45 am - The Navy football team will arrive at the Blue Angel on the West (Blue) side of the stadium. The team will walk down the sidewalk and through NavyFest before walking to the tunnel. Fans are invited to stand on both sides of the sidewalk to cheer on the players.

11:46:30 am - National Anthem. If the government shutdown ends in time, there will be a fly-over (it was trending in a positive way at the time this was written).
   Saturday's fly-over will feature 2 F/A-18E Super Hornets from the "Blue Blasters" of VFA-34, based out of Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia. Piloting the lead aircraft will be Cmdr. Jason Pallotta, USNA Class of 2007.  The wing aircraft will be piloted by Lt. Mitchell "Zohan" Pendleton, Class of '19. Providing ground control and support will be Cmdr. Peter Daniels, Class of '08.  Celebrating over 80 years of distinguished service, the "Blue Blasters" of VFA-34 have been a symbol of courage, precision, and dedication. From the battles of World War II to the skies of modern-day combat, the Jokers have continuously exemplified the highest standards of naval aviation. "Victory in Combat! Have Gun… Will Travel!"
