ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy wrestling team (1-3, 0-0 EIWA) returns home on Saturday to open Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) dual competition against Morgan State (0-6, 0-1 EIWA) at Alumni Hall at noon.

Notes For Traveling Fans                             Â
- Vehicular access to the Naval Academy is limited to drivers with a Department of Defense identification card.
- Fans attending Saturday's wrestling event must enter through Gate 1, which will be open for vehicle access from 8:20 a.m. to 12 p.m., as Gate 8 will be closed to vehicle traffic until noon due to the Naptown Race.
- All other visitors must park outside of the Naval Academy grounds and walk through the security gates at Gate 1 and must present a real I.D. or passport, or take the complimentary shuttles from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (550 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis, Md., 21401). Visitors 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
- Shuttles will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enter the blue/west parking lot through Gate 5 off Taylor Avenue. Parking costs $10.

Navy sent six wrestlers to the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on Dec. 5–6, finishing 16th among 30 teams.

Danny Wask (174 pounds) and
Spencer Lanosga (285) led the Midshipmen as the team's only placewinners. Wask went 3-1 to earn his third-career CKLV podium finish, reaching the championship bout with wins by fall, major decision and decision. He dropped a narrow 5-4 decision in the finals to Oklahoma's Carter Schubert.

Lanosga placed sixth at heavyweight after a 3-0 start, highlighted by a 7-2 quarterfinal win over 24th-ranked Juan Mora of Oklahoma. He dropped his next two matches and medically forfeited the fifth-place bout.

Seventeen Midshipmen also competed at the Patriot Open in Fairfax, Va., on Dec. 7, producing two individual titles and multiple placewinners.Â

Dylan Elmore (165) earned Navy's second title, posting major decisions in the quarterfinals and semifinals before a 7-4 win over Drexel's Cody Walsh in the championship match.

Navy Notes                                                      Â
- Navy finished the opening portion of its nonconference schedule with a 1-3 record, including a 27-13 win over Appalachian State. The Navy's losses came against 21st-ranked Pittsburgh (20-12), 14th-ranked Rutgers (24-12) and 21st-ranked North Carolina (20-18).
- Saturday marks Navy's second home dual of the season and first event in Annapolis since the Navy Classic on Nov. 2.
- Four Midshipmen who competed in Navy's 39-0 shutout of Morgan State two seasons ago return: Brendan Ferretti (133), Nicholas Vafiadis (141), Jonathan Ley (157) and Zyan Hall (197).
- Navy has used a different starting lineup in each of its four duals this season.
- Danny Wask (174) and Spencer Lanosga (285) are the only Midshipmen to start and win all four dual matches this year.
- Wask leads the team with 12 takedowns in dual matches. Six of his takedowns have come in the third period.
- Caedyn Ricciardi (141) and Lanosga are tied for second on the team with seven dual takedowns apiece.
- Ferretti, James Latona (149) and Wask share the team lead with two wins by fall this season.
- Lanosga and Cooper Rathburn (157) lead the team with 10 victories.
- Zyan Hall and Payton Thomas have split time at 197 pounds, each making two dual starts.
- Hall owns a 7-5 record and is 1-1 in duals. He defeated his first ranked opponent in his career with a 7-3 decision over 14th-ranked Jack Wehmeyer of Columbia at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic.
- Thomas, a 2025 NCAA qualifier, is 5-5 this season and split his two dual appearances. He is 3-1 over his last four matches, including a win over Wehmeyer at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic.

Scouting Morgan State                Â
Morgan State enters the weekend with a 0-6 record, including an 0-1 mark in EIWA duals.Â
The Bears most recently fell to Davidson, 43-8, on Dec. 7.
Morgan State finished 11th at the 2025 EIWA Championships, highlighted by three podium finishers, including Xavier Doolin, who placed fourth at heavyweight.
Eugene Harney (149) leads the Bears with 12 victories in his first season with the program and is Morgan State's lone wrestler ranked in the current InterMat poll at 31.
The Bears are projected to start either Kyle Grey or Josh Greenwood for the first time this season at 165 pounds. Antonie Glasgow has started all six duals for Morgan State but is not listed to compete.
Kenny Monday is in his third season leading the program. Monday is a three-time Olympian, including a gold medalist in 1988 and a silver medalist in 1992.
