ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy track and field team returns home to Wesley A. Brown Field House for the Navy Select on Friday. Competition begins with the field events at 10 a.m., while running events will get underway at 12:45 p.m.

Notes For Traveling Fans
• Visitors 18 years and older must present a government-issued identification card (driver's license / passport) to gain access to the Academy grounds, while visitors 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
• The cost of parking is $10.
• Enter the blue/west parking lot through gate 5 off of Taylor Avenue.Â
• The shuttles will run from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• All other visitors must either park outside of the Naval Academy grounds and walk through the security gates at Gate 1 or take the complimentary shuttles from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (550 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis, Md., 21401).Â
• Vehicular access to the Naval Academy is limited to those drivers with a Department of Defense identification card.Â

Smith Named Patriot League Men's Track Athlete of the Week
A school record in the 5,000m run earned Navy's Murphy Smith the Patriot League Men's Indoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week accolade, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Smith broke his own record in the event by 10 seconds when he posted a time of 13:45.12 at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational. The effort by the senior is the fastest in the Patriot League this season and ranks 80th in the NCAA.
Last Time Out
Navy sent nine distance runners to Boston University for the 2025 BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational. Four runners wrote their names in the record book with top-10 times in the 5,000m, including Smith who set the school record.
Justin Mumford, Alexander Kirkland and Jackson Nguyen also ran a top-10 time in the event. Mumford set the second-fastest time in program history with a time of 13:49.01. Kirkland followed three seconds later with the third-best time in Navy history (13:52.33). Nguyen rounded out the group's big day with a time of 14:03.59, the ninth best time in program history.
At the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational at Liberty University, Sophie Compton highlighted the event with a program record-setting time of 9:25.15 in the 3,000m.
Olivia Lutkevich also recorded a program top-10 time in the 3,000m of 9:38.12, which is the ninth fastest time in program history.
In the mile, the pairing of Alexandra Wercinski and Compton ran the seventh and eighth best times respectively in school history. Wercinski paced the Mids with a time of 4:48.23, while Compton was .08 seconds behind Wercinski in a time of 4:48.31.
Nathan Kent had a big weekend at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational winning the 200m and 400m events with top 10 times. The junior from Rocklin, Calif., ran the third fastest time in Navy history in the 200m with a time of 21.03, while his 400m time of 47.29 was the ninth fastest in school history.
The men's 4x400m relay team of Jacques Guillaume, Jay Evans, Pete deJonge and Kent added on to the big weekend with the third fastest time in Navy history, winning the relay in a time of 3:11.16.
Women's senior team captain Taylor Woodworth had a big day with a pair of top five finishes in the 400m and 500m. She finished fourth in the 400m with a time of 55.57 and recorded a season-best time of 1:13.26 in the 500m to finish second.
Four Midshipmen placed in the top-10 in the 800m open. Jack Lange led the way with a third-place finish in a time of 1:54.53. Nicholas Hamby finished fourth in a time of 1:54.79, while Matthew Quispe (1:55.20) and Matthew Dunaski (1:55.30) finished seventh and eighth.
Freshman Sophia Hill won the pole vault event for the second time this season with a mark of 3.75m (12' 3.5").
Wyatt Shaw won the high jump event for the first time in his career with a season-best height of 2.01m (6' 7").
Cooper Wakley finished second in the pole vault with a career-best mark of 4.65m (15' 3").
