League Opener Ahead of Men's Tennis Sunday
ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's tennis team will open Patriot League play Sunday when the Mids (10-6) travel to Syracuse to face Colgate (4-3, 0-1) in a 3:30 p.m. match at the Drumlins Tennis Club. Navy also will split its squad and play host to Delaware (4-4) Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in the Tose Family Tennis Center.

Navy Review
The Mids split two matches last weekend, posting a 6-1 victory over Richmond and falling, 5-2, to Georgetown.
Herrick Legaspi and
Charlie Spencer combined for a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles against the Spiders, then each won three-set matches at No. 1 (Legaspi) and No. 4 (Spencer) singles.
Aniketh Ayinala also won two matches in the dual as he teamed with
Jason Kim for a victory at No. 2 doubles and won a straight-set match at No. 3 singles.
Legaspi has posted a 7-2 record in singles in 2025 and Spencer has won all six of his singles matches in this calendar year.
Delaware Preview
The Blue Hens will face Temple Friday prior to making the short drive to Annapolis.
Delaware and Navy have each played and defeated Villanova and Long Island this fall.
The Blue Hens spent several weeks of the 2024 season in the national rankings on their way to finishing the year with an overall record of 16-4 and a Coastal Athletic Association record of 4-1. Delaware garnered the No. 2 seed in the CAA Tournament and lost in the semifinal round of the event.
Navy holds a 14-2 advantage in the series with Delaware, but the Blue Hens have defeated the Mids in each of the last two seasons (7-0 in 2023, 5-2 in 2024).
Colgate Preview
The Raiders have a match against Wagner Friday afternoon in Syracuse before they face the Mids on Sunday.
Colgate faced Lehigh last week in what was the Patriot League opener for both teams. The Raiders won the doubles point, but the Mountain Hawks registered five singles victories to record the victory.
Navy leads Colgate, 35-11-1, in a series that began in 1924. The Mids have won the last four matches played between the teams, including a 7-0 victory two years ago in what was the most recent match in the series.
