DANBURY, Conn. - Coming off a standout performance at the 2025 Army-Navy Star Meet this past Saturday at West Point, Isaiah Drake continued to garner awards on Wednesday as he was selected as the College Gymnastics Association National Gymnast of the Week. On Tuesday as he was named both the ECAC Gymnast of the Week and NAAA Athlete of the Week presented by USAA. Drake shared the NAAA honor with four fellow Midshipmen as Navy went 4-0 in Star contest victories versus Army over the weekend.

In a dramatic head-to-head meet that saw the teams come into the contest at Army's Gross Sports Center separated by less than a point in their respective season scoring averages, the Mids fell behind early following the pommel horse rotation and immediately went into comeback mode. A battle-tested senior that has earned All-American honors and a spot on the U.S. Senior National Development Team during his time with the program, Drake was unfazed by this deficit and posted the fourth-best rings score of 13.20. Pulling Navy within 0.55 points of Army, the second half of the meet was all Mids led by Drake sweeping the top scores on the vault, parallel bars and high bar. He cleared the field on the vault by 0.45 points with a dominant 14.30 score before edging opponents by 0.15 on the parallel bars courtesy of a 13.15 and 0.05 on the high bar as he held off his teammate Matthew Petros, 13.55 to 13.50. 

As a team, Navy ended up defeating Army, 314.60 to 311.90. The victory was the seventh in a row by the Midshipmen over the Black Knights and ensured that Drake and his fellow seniors will end their time in Annapolis as four-time Star Meet champions.

This is the 13th ECAC weekly honor of Drake's storied career and second of 2025.

Drake and the Mids will be away from competition this weekend before picking up their season next Saturday with service academy action at the All-Academy Championship in Fort Worth, Texas. The tri-meet between Air Force, Army and Navy is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
