MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Navy rifle team completed competition in the 2025 Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) Championship on Sunday afternoon, placing third overall in the competition that was held at the WVU Rifle Range in Morgantown, W.Va. Sophomore
Isabella Baldwin recorded the top score in aggregate (1188), while tying for the top tally in smallbore (591). In addition, Baldwin earned the High Standing Shooter award for her performance during the standing portion of smallbore.
As a team, Navy finished with an aggregate score of 4705 to finish behind match host West Virginia (4738) and Kentucky (4728). The Mids finished ahead of Akron (4699), Army (4686), and Memphis (4676).
The Midshipmen opened up the competition on Saturday with a smallbore score of 2339 to finish third in the discipline. In air rifle, Navy was fourth with a team score of 2366.
Baldwin led the Midshipmen with an aggregate score of 1188, which was one point shy of her career best. Her score topped a pair of West Virginia shooters – Griffin Lake and Gavin Barnick – by one point for the top individual finisher. The sophomore opened competition by tying WVU's Jacob Wisman for the top smallbore score with a 591. Baldwin had a 20-shot standing score of 198 (of a possible 200) to earn the High Standing Shooter award. On the second day of competition, she registered a 597 to tie for fourth in the discipline.
Senior
Marleigh Duncan and junior
Parker Haydin followed with aggregate scores of 1177 and 1170, respectively. Duncan began her final GARC Championship with a 586 score in smallbore, while Haydin finished day one with a 578. On Sunday, Duncan posted a 591 in air rifle for her 1177 combined score. Haydin notched a 592 in air rifle to give him an 1170 aggregate tally.
Sophomore
Ryan Wee and senior team captain
Stephanie Milvain rounded out Navy's starters. Wee finished with an aggregate score of 1169 after balanced rounds of 584 in smallbore and 585 in air rifle. Milvain posted performances of 575 in smallbore and 586 in air rifle for a combined score of 1161.
Milvain's score was matched by junior
Catherine Dely. Dely recorded performances of 571 in smallbore and 590 in air rifle for her 1161.
Junior
Devin Uhrich, sophomore
Chelsie Glover, and senior
Joshua Potts rounded out the scoring for the Midshipmen. Uhrich posted an 1156 total score with a 570 (smallbore) and 586 (air rifle). Glover recorded a 569 in smallbore to go along with career-high tally of 586 in air rifle for a career-best aggregate score of 1155. Potts finished with an 1153 with totals of 565 (smallbore) and 588 (air rifle).
Up next, Duncan will take part in the smallbore competition at the 2025 NCAA Rifle Championships on Friday, March 14, on the campus of the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky. Milvain will also travel to the NCAA Championships as an alternate in smallbore.
