Setting the Stage
• Inside the Game: Navy (6-3, 2-1 Patriot League) will play its 2nd-consecutive road game when it makes the trek to Hamilton, N.Y. to play Colgate (5-4, 2-1 Patriot League) on Saturday afternoon. The second game of a men's and women's doubleheader, the men's game is slated for a 2:00 pm faceoff (11:00 am - women vs. American) at Crown Field at Andy Kerr Stadium. Navy is led by Joe Amplo, who has put together a 41-29 record in his 6 seasons at the helm of the Mids' program, while Colgate's Matt Karweck has posted a 26-51 record in 7 seasons as the Raiders' head coach. The contest marks the 27th meeting in a series that dates back to 1928.
• Follow the Action: The game will be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription based) with John McGraw and Jackson Cowen on the call. 1 -During the Joe Amplo era, Navy has lost just 1 game when holding its foe to single digits. The Mids are 28-1 when achieving that feat since 2020. Colgate has been held to single digits just twice this year, the first-2 games of the season.
Navy-Colgate Series
• Navy leads the all-time series with Colgate 18-8, including a 5-3 advantage in games played in Hamilton, N.Y.
• Colgate has beaten Navy in 2 of the last 3 contests played on the Raiders' home field (10-4 in 2017 // 17-8 in 2023). Navy captured a 16-11 victory over Colgate in 2019.
• The two teams have met 24 times since the Midshipmen joined the Patriot League in 2004. During that span, Navy has produced a 16-8 record and has outscored Colgate, 251-217.

Scouting Colgate
• Seventh-year head coach Matt Karweck has led Colgate to a 5-4 record this spring, including a 2-1 mark in Patriot League action. The Raiders opened the year with back-to-back losses to Penn State (14-9) and Virginia (19-9) before bouncing back with 5-consecutive wins over UAlbany (19-14), Harvard (19-15), Villanova (16-5), Loyola (18-6) and Lafayette (19-14). Colgate, however, enters the weekend riding a 2-game losing streak with losses to Bucknell (18-17) and Syracuse (16-12).
• Colgate is ranked among the top 10 nationally in 6 statistical categories _ #2 caused turnovers per game (11.56), #2 ground balls per game (37.78), #4 scoring offense (15.33), #5 opponent clearing percentage (76.2), #7 points per game (24.33) and #8 assists per game (9.00). .
• Colgate has been held to single digits just twice this season - it's first-2 contests where the Raiders scored 9 goals in both games. In its other 7 games, Colgate has scored 19 goals 3 times.
• The 3-headed monster of brothers Rory and Liam Connor, along with Jack Turner has been outstanding. Liam Connor (So / M) leads the team with 46 points on 20 goals and a team-best 26 assists. He is 10th nationally in points per game (5.11) and 6th in assists per game (2.89). Rory Connor (Sr / A) has produced 44 points on 26 goals and 18 assists. He ranked 12th nationally in points per game (4.89), 23rd in goals per game (2.89) and 18th in assists per game (2.00). Turner (Sr / A) has tallied 39 points on a team-best 30 goals and 9 assists. He is 22nd nationally in points per game (4.33) and 6th in goals per game (3.33).
• While Colgate can score at will, its opponents have been able to do nearly the same. The Raiders are ranked 63rd in scoring defense, allowing 13.44 goals per game. Colgate has held just 2 opponents not only to single digits, but 13 of fewer goals.
• Matt LaCombe (Sr / GK) leads the defense from between the pipes where he owns a 12.77 goals-against average and a 47.9 save percentage.
• The Raiders are averaging 11.56 caused turnovers per game, primarily through their 10-man ride. John Carrabine (So / LSM) stands 15th nationally (1.89), while Sam Erickson (Jr / LSM) is 43rd (1.44).
• Sam Rummel (So) is Colgate's primary faceoff option, winning 89 of the 197 draws (45.2) he's taken, while Johnny Hartzell (Jr) has won 39 of the 82 (47.6) he has taken this spring.
• Also one of the top ground ball teams in the country (#2 / 37.78), Max Yates (Sr / D) leads the way with 4.22 per game, while Carrabine is averaging 3.89 per outing.
Navy to Host 2025 NCAA Quarterfinal Site
• Hofstra (Saturday, May 17) and Navy (Sunday, May 18 / 12:00 pm & 2:30 pm) will serve as the host sites for this year's NCAA Quarterfinal games. Navy has previously hosted the quarterfinal round 7 times - 2007, '08, '09, '12, '15, '18, '23. Navy will also host quarterfinal games in 2027.
• Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., will be the site of the 2025 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships (Div. I, II, III) and Div. I Women's Lacrosse Championship. These championships will represent the 2nd time the home of the NFL's New England Patriots has hosted the combined men's and women's event and the 6th time (2008-09-12-17-18) it has hosted the men's championship. In 2017, the venue became the 1st to host both the men's and women's championships. Harvard will serve as the host school.

Patriot League Success
• Since joining the Patriot League in 2004, Navy has put together a 107-60 record (64.1) against conference members, which includes a 2-0 mark against Hobart who left the league following the 2004 season.
• The Mids are 95-49 (66.0) in regular-season action and 12-11 (52.2) in the Patriot League Tournament.
• 37 of the 60 losses (61.7) have been in games played either at the opponent's field (31) or at a neutral site (6).
• Navy owns a 55-23 (70.5) Patriot League record at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, including a 48-19 (71.6) mark during the regular season.
• The Mids have produced undefeated records in regular-season conference action twice, 7-0 in 2004 and 6-0 in '07.
• Navy won 8-consecutive Patriot League Tournament games and 4-straight Patriot League Tournament titles (2004-07), before dropping the program's first tournament contest in the 2008 semifinals against eventual champion Colgate.
• Navy has won at least a share of the Patriot League regular-season title 8 times (2004-05-06-07-08-15-16-18) since joining the league in 2004.
