BETHLEHEM, Pa. – With a new Midshipman finding their way to the top of the player leaderboard Saturday afternoon, the Navy women's golf team continued to put a stranglehold on the team standings on the second day of the 2025 Patriot League Championship at Saucon Valley Country Club's Grace Course.
Posting its second-straight round of 292 to sit in first place at 8-over par 584, the Midshipmen ended Saturday with a 32-stroke lead over second-place Boston and 40 strokes ahead of third-place Bucknell. The rounds of 292 on Friday and Saturday match the program's team-low round at a Patriot League Championship and also mark the second-lowest team rounds of the 2024-25 season for Navy.
Shooting a 2-under par 70 in Saturday's round, sophomore
Emma Tang pulled herself into first place on the individual leaderboard at 1-under par 143. The 70 score marks her seventh round of the season at or below par.
Pulling into second place with a round of even-par 72, junior
Sue Lee finished Saturday with a two-day score of 3-over par 147, while freshman
Megan Kirkpatrick tallied a 4-over par 76 to land in third place at the close of play Saturday with a total of 4-over par 148. Lee's Saturday round gives her three rounds this season at or below par.
Sitting tied for fourth at 5-over par 149, sophomore
Keira Howard shot a 2-over par 74 on Saturday. Senior captain
Bridget Hoang also kept herself in the top-10 by shooting a 4-over par 76 to end Saturday in a tie for sixth at 7-over par 151.
Despite a round of 86 on Saturday, freshman
Vivian Cressman ended the day with a 14-over par 158 score to hold onto 16th on the leaderboard.
Navy will try to close out its second-straight league title on Sunday, with tee times starting at 9:00 a.m. in Bethlehem, Pa.
