ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy men's tennis team will close its home slate Tuesday when the Mids (19-14, 6-0 Patriot League) play host to Howard (5-11) and Loyola (2-14, 0-6 Patriot League) in the Tose Family Tennis Center. The noon start time for Howard match is earlier than the originally scheduled time of 2 p.m. Additionally, the Navy-Loyola match has been moved to Annapolis from Baltimore due to the impending poor weather. Warmups for the match between the Mids and Greyhounds will start immediately after the conclusion of the Navy-Howard match.
Navy Review
The Mids won a pair of Patriot League matches last weekend as part of their posting three wins in four matches over the past few days. Navy defeated Bucknell, 4-2, and Holy Cross, 4-0, to improve its record in league play to 6-0. The Mids also lost a 4-3 decision to Norfolk State and defeated Longwood by the same score.
Howard Preview
The Mids and the Bison share eight common opponents this season. Each team has lost to Georgetown, Delaware, Temple and Norfolk State, both have defeated Hampton, Navy has beaten Mount St. Mary's, Bucknell and Longwood and Howard has lost to those three foes. Additionally, Howard has posted a 5-2 victory over Loyola.
Howard registered a 6-11 record last season and lost in the semifinal round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament.
Navy defeated Howard by the score of 7-0 last season.
Loyola Preview
Loyola's league losses this year have come to Lafayette (4-3), Holy Cross (4-1), Army (4-0), Bucknell (7-0), Lehigh (7-0) and Colgate (4-0). The Greyhounds also have dropped matches to Norfolk State and Hofstra.
