WORCESTER, Mass. – Navy's
Jia Anderson was the highest women's point-scorer (26 pts) at the 2025 Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championships and led the Mids' women's track & field team to a third-place finish Saturday at Hart Track in Worcester, Mass. Army won the team title with 215.5 team points, followed by Boston with 167 points and Navy with 157 points.
"We had a ton of good performances from the younger kids and they competed hard," said Naval Academy Director of Track & Field
Jamie Cook. "Unfortunately, we didn't get the win, but we're going to learn from it, move on and try to come back better next time."

Bennett Pidro,
Taylor Woodworth and Anderson tied the sixth-best time in school history when it took silver in a time of 46.09. Anderson put up a valiant effort in the anchor position as she nearly edged out Holy Cross' (46.00) Abigail Desmarais for first place.
Anderson's big day carried over into the 100m hurdles where she took the gold medal with the sixth-best time in program history of 13.73. She continued to stack the gold when she ran the fifth-fastest 100m time in school history in 11.76. Anderson's day concluded in the 200m with a sixth-place time of 24.49.
"What a meet for Jia [Anderson]," said Cook. "I was really impressed with her performance and grit to pull out some hard-fought victories."
Alex Wercinski ran the third-fastest 1,500m time in program history in 4:22.70 to finish in fifth place.
Sophie Compton clocked a ninth-place time of 4:27.82, while
Kate Leddy finished shorty after in 4:36.04 for a 10th-place finish.
Wercinski also led Navy in the 5,000m race with a fourth-place time of 17:07.47.
Sophie Compton finished in fifth place in 17:07.56 and
Lexi Ensor ran a seventh-place mark of 17:17.67.
Olivia Lutkevich medaled in her first league event, taking second place in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 10:28.18.
Mia-Claire Kezal crossed the finish line shortly after Lutkevich in 10:37.85 to finish in fifth place.
Taylor Woodworth earned the bronze medal in the 400m run as she tied the third-fastest time in program history in 54.14. Team captain
Kylie Bedard finished in fifth place with a career-best time of 54.78.
The track events concluded with the 4x400m relay where the squad of

Sophia Richter,
Julia Blake and Woodworth secured the silver medal with the second-fastest time in school history (3:41.94).
Zoie Tesi took home the silver medal in the high jump as she tied Army's Zoe Whaley for the top mark of 1.72. Whaley earned the top prize as she cleared the height on her second attempt compared to Tesi's third attempt.
Sarah Perico led the Mids and ranked fourth overall in the heptathlon with 4,566 points. Perico won the javelin portion of the event with a toss of 42.31m (138' 9").
Isabell Romasko finished in sixth place with 4,562 points, while
Sara McConnell tallied 4,531 points to place seventh.
Sami Bollinger recorded the program's second-best triple jump with a mark of 12.30m (40' 4.25") to place fourth. Tesi nabbed fifth place with a leap of 12.07m (39' 7.25").
Jordynn Hutchinson led the Midshipmen in the shot put with a toss of 14.51m (47' 7.25") to place fourth.
Navy returns to action May 16-18 when it travels to Fairfax, Va. to compete in the IC4A / ECAC Outdoor Championship.
