ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Navy water polo head coach
Luis Nicolao officially announced that
Holden Seybold will be the team captain for the 2025 campaign.
"It is an honor to be selected to be the captain of the Navy water polo team for this upcoming season," Seybold stated. "I'm really excited to be a part of this team for one more year. The guys have been putting in a lot of work, and we are excited to get back into it for this season."
Seybold is a three-time letterwinner who has played in 79 games with 52 goals and 22 assists for 74 total points, while adding 68 steals and 36 ejections drawn.
"I am very excited for Holden," Nicolao said of his captain. "It's always incredibly rewarding to see someone grow and achieve their goals. From attending the first SEAL water polo camp to becoming a team captain is a truly remarkable accomplishment. He put in a lot of hard work and dedication to get to where he is today."
The Midshipmen open the 2025 season on the road, beginning the year with perennial power UCLA on Friday, August 29. The Mids will take part in the Triton Invitational (Aug. 30-31) and the Princeton Invitational (Sept. 5-6) before playing seven games at home as part of the Navy Open (Sept. 12-14).
