ANNAPOLIS, Md.—Navy senior nose guard Landon Robinson has been named to the 80th Outland Trophy Watch List, which is awarded to the top interior lineman in the country (offense or defense), it was announced today by the Football Writers Association of America and the Greater Omaha Sports Committee.
The FWAA will announce six or seven Outland Trophy semifinalists on Nov. 19 and those players will then be pared down to three finalists announced on Nov. 25 on ESPN.
The Outland Trophy winner is chosen from those finalists who will be part of the annual FWAA All-America Team. The FWAA All-America Committee, after voting input from the entire membership, selects a 26-man first team and eventually the three Outland finalists. Committee members, then by individual ballot, select the winner. Only interior linemen on offense or defense are eligible for the award; ends and edge rushers are not eligible.
The recipient of the 2025 Outland Trophy will be announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards, live on ESPN on Friday, Dec. 12. The official trophy presentation to the winner will be made at the Outland Trophy Awards Dinner sponsored by Werner Enterprises and produced by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee on Jan. 21, 2026 in Omaha, Neb.
Robinson is one of four players from the American Conference on the list.
A starter in 13 games during his career, Robinson is the strongest player on the Navy team, squatting 665 pounds, benching 465 pounds, has a 33-inch vertical and has been clocked at 20.13 mph on the GPS. Robinson has been named to Bruce Feldman's "Freaks List" in the Athletic each of the last 2 years and is expected to be on the list a third time when it is released in August.
Robinson garnered First-Team All-American Conference and First-Team All-East recognition last year as he finished the year with 61 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, seven quarterback hurries and two forced fumbles.
He was dominant against Army, recording a career-high 13 tackles, forcing a fumble and running 29 yards on a fake punt. He shared Army-Navy MVP honors with quarterback and fellow 2025 team captain Blake Horvath.
