To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore and maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Earning the accolade for Navy were:
- Recent graduates Maggie Geiger (operations research major) and Grace Oliver (cyber operations).
- Current seniors Hannah Brink (naval architecture & marine engineering) and Michaela Schwappach (robotics and control engineering).
- Current juniors Natalya Martano (naval architecture & marine engineering), Anissa Morgan (nuclear engineering), Alexis Rohrbach (robotics and control engineering), Allison Ross (naval architecture & marine engineering) and Mia Young (operations research).
"We talk all the time about putting in the work — on the rugby pitch, in Bancroft Hall and in the classroom," said head coach
Murph McCarthy. "It's quite a feat to have nine members of our team above a 3.5 academically at a place like this, and I'm so proud of these athletes."
Navy opens its season on Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. against Queens University of Charlotte in Charlotte, N.C.
