Women's Triathlon Opens 2025 Season with Pair of Events
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy women's triathlon team will open its 2025-26 campaign this week with a pair of meets. The Mids are set to compete in the ETSU Buccaneer Collegiate Cup on Friday at 5 p.m. in Johnson City, Tenn., then will travel to Wingate, N.C., for the Bulldog Super Sprint Kickoff on Sunday at 8 a.m.
The Buccaneer Collegiate Cup features a sprint-distance format consisting of a 400yd swim, 8km bike and 2km run. Navy will be one of seven schools in the field, joining East Tennessee State, King, Lenoir-Rhyne, Newberry, Queens and Warren Wilson. Sunday's Bulldog Super Sprint includes a 300yd swim, 8.5km bike and 2.2km run. Wingate, the 2024 Division II national champion, will host the event and be joined by Newberry and Duquesne.

Navy returns a young but experienced core with four letter winners – junior
MC Kistler along with sophomores
Dylan Cashin,
Ella Sims and
Natalie Wang – back from last season's roster. Among those, Wang (60th, 1:04:16), Cashin (77th, 1:06:02) and Kistler (145th, 1:17:00) competed at the 2024 NCAA National Championship.
The Mids also welcome four freshmen to the squad –
Madelyn Berry (Smithfield, Va.),
Allison Miller (St. Louis, Mo.),
Leah Norton (Claymont, Del.) and
Keira Wilkinson (Westminster, Colo.).
2024 Season Recap
Navy placed eighth out of 21 teams at the 2024 NCAA East Regional Qualifier in Wake Forest, N.C., with two athletes finishing in the top 50. Wang led the team with a 30th-place finish (1:02:27), while Cashin followed in 49th (1:05:02).
Emely Vela (54th, 1:05:26), Sailor Eastman (62nd, 1:08:19) and Kistler (87th, 1:17:13) rounded out the scoring.
Navy went on to place 11th out of 14 teams at the NCAA National Championship to improve its regional seed by one position.
