ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy women's rugby team (2-2, 2-2 NIRA) will play its fifth-straight conference game Saturday when the Mids play at Princeton (0-2, 0-2 NIRA) in a noon start at Rickerson Field at Haaga House in Princeton, N.J.

Last Time Out: vs. Long Island
Navy used a dominant second-half effort to defeat Long Island, 31-14, at the Prusmack Rugby Center last weekend. The win snapped a Navy two-game skid on the year. The Mids fell behind early after LIU's Kori Fields scored the game's first try in the 10th minute.
Bigue Kah answered with her first try of the season in the 18
th minute to tie the game. A back-and-forth first half followed with both teams trading turnovers and penalties. Navy's
Giada MacNamara broke through in the 30th minute to tie the score at 14 heading into halftime.
The Midshipmen scored 17 unanswered points in the second half to account for all of the points scored during the half. Six minutes after the restart, Navy converted a lineout into a strong maul inside the Sharks' 22-meter zone. MacNamara finished the play with her second try to give Navy its first lead of the game.
Navy in the NIRA Rankings
Navy enters the weekend ranked sixth in the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) power rankings with a 2-2 record. The Mids are fourth in the league in total points scored (110) as they average 27.5 points per game.
Navy Notes
- MacNamara scored her first career try in the win over Long Island.
- Mia Young scored a personal season-best six points with three conversion kicks. She is now tied for second on the team in total points with 15.
- Caroline Shegogue leads the team with three tries after scoring one against LIU.
- Layla Lujan has provided depth off the bench as she scored both of her tries this season as a reserve.
- Meagan Alvarez, who saw a three-game scoring streak end last week, still leads the team with 18 total points.
Scouting Princeton
- Princeton has struggled early as it dropped its first two games by a combined score of 128-14. The Tigers lost 54-7 to Long Island and 74-7 to Lindenwood.
- Hazel Pron and Maizy Miller have each scored a try this season.
- The Tigers are led by fourth-year head coach Josie Ziluca.
Navy vs. Princeton
- Saturday marks the second meeting between Navy and Princeton and the first to be played at Rickerson Field at Haaga House. The Mids edged the Tigers, 24-19, last season in Annapolis.
- Navy returns all four players who scored a try during last year's win (Ella Callahan, Lara Olmsted, Alexis Rohrbach and Mia Young).
