BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Chase Maier from the Navy men's swimming and diving team has been named this week's Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the sport, the league office announced today.  

This is Maier's third weekly award of the season.  He received this week's accolade for his efforts during Navy's meet against Delaware, Kenyon and No. 22 Princeton, which was held Jan. 9-10 in Annapolis.  Maier was Navy's top swimmer in the 1000 freestyle as his time of 9:12.95 placed him fourth in the field in the event held on day one of the meet.  He went on to finish in second place in Saturday's 500 freestyle with a time of 4:22.10.

The Navy team, 11-1 this year, will conclude the regular season Jan. 23 at Columbia.
