DANBURY, Conn. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference announced its second set of weekly gymnastics honors and Navy all-arounder Brian Solomon highlighted the release as the ECAC Gymnast of the Week. Suiting up in all six disciplines this past Friday at the 2026 West Point Open, Solomon was a standout performer among his conference peers as he was the highest-finishing ECAC gymnast in the all-around competitor. This is the second consecutive ECAC Gymnast of the Week honor that Solomon has earned in 2026.

The field for the 2026 West Point Open this past weekend consisted of Penn State and five schools from the ECAC; Army, Navy, Springfield, William & Mary and Simpson. Showcasing his abilities on all six apparatus with the intent on securing a spot at next month's Winter Cup Championship, Solomon did just that and posted an all-around score of 77.55 that ranked third overall in the field behind the PSU duo of Landon Simpson (78.55) and Akseli Karsikas (78.35). His all-around success was buoyed by a pair of strong routines on the pommel horse (13.3 score) and parallel bars (13.15) that qualified him for the competition's event finals. Unfortunately, Navy was unable to make it back to West Point for the event finals due to inclement weather throughout the day on Saturday.

This is the third career ECAC Gymnast of the Week honor of his career as prior to this season he was noted by the league on January 21, 2025.

Solomon and the Mids will be back in action this Saturday with the annual Navy Open. First touch in Halsey Field House is scheduled for 2 p.m.
