A Look Back
•    Aidan Kehoe scored a career-high 29 points as Navy led for the last 32 minutes of an 85-68 victory over Holy Cross Wednesday night in Alumni Hall.
•    Navy held several 10-point leads in the first half before taking a 42-34 lead at the break.
•    The Mids extended the lead to 53-40 early in the second half, but saw it dip to as few as four points at 59-55.  The Crusaders had two opportunities to cut into the deficit, but couldn't.  The teams then traded several baskets (61-57, 64-60, 66-62).
•    A three-point basket by Jinwoo Kim sparked a 7-1 run that boosted the cushion to 73-63 with four minutes left.
•    Navy was 21-27 from the foul line in the win, while Holy Cross was 10-12.
•    The Mids tied a season low with just six turnovers and forced 13.  Navy held a 17-4 edge in points after turnovers.
•    Kehoe was 10-12 from the field and 9-12 from the foul line in scoring his 29 points.
•    Austin Benigni scored 25 and Kim added 18.

Army Preview
•    Army has posted an overall record of 8-12 this season and has tallied a 4-5 record in true road games.
•    The Black Knights won an 87-84 overtime game at Bucknell Wednesday to snap a five-game skid and raise their league record to 2-5.  This includes a 2-2 record in road games.

Series History
•    The two service academy programs first met on Feb. 21, 1920, in West Point.  The Mids emerged with a 24-18 victory in that inaugural game.
•    Navy leads the all-time series by a count of 87-56.  This includes a 48-25 lead in games played at Navy and a 26-13 edge in games played in Alumni Hall.
•    The teams have been fellow members of the Patriot League since the 1991-92 season.  Navy holds a 45-23 lead in league regular season games played by the teams.  The Mids also are in front of the Black Knights, 22-13, in league games played at Navy, all of which have been played in Alumni Hall.

Trophy Game to be Played at Army
•    The Alumni Trophy was first presented to the winner of the Star Game in 1984.  It consists of two 15-inch silver plates, one with the U.S. Military Academy seal and one with the U.S. Naval Academy seal.
•    It was a gift of Capt. Victor Delano, USN (Ret.), a 1941 alumnus of the Naval Academy.
•    Due to natural wear and tear of the casing over the years, the trophy was refurbished during the 2022 summer.
•    The 2026 Trophy game will be played Feb. 21 at Army.  Navy is in possession of the trophy thanks to its 61-54 victory in Annapolis in 2025.

Close Games Are the Norm
•    Four of the last 11 games in the series have gone to overtime, as have six of the last 19 games.
•    21 of the last 28 games (since Feb. 11, 2012) have been decided by single digits.  This includes 10 games determined by five or fewer points.
•    13 of the last 14 games played in Annapolis (since Feb. 16, 2013) have been decided by single digits.  This includes eight games determined by no more than five points.

Series Longevity
•    This is the 103rd season in which Army and Navy are facing each other.  The only four years in which the teams have not met since the first game in 1919-20 were the 1928-29 through 1929-32 seasons.
•    Navy has faced Army in more seasons than any other opponent.
•    The 103 years of at least one Army-Navy game being played ranks second for the most seasons in which a Patriot League series has been contested
•    Army and Navy are meeting this year for the 94th season in a row. That is the longest uninterrupted series among Patriot League programs.
•    Army and Navy will play for the 144th time Saturday.  That ranks fourth for the most games played among Patriot League teams and first for the most games played by the Mids against an opponent.

Series Points Recently
•    The scoring between Army and Navy has been nearly identical over the last 17 games in the series.
•    Navy is averaging 67.6 points per game in this span and Amy is averaging 65.8 points per game.
•    The scoring has been especially close over the last number of games played in Annapolis.
•    The Mids are outscoring the Black Knights 68.3-65.9 points per game over the last 10 games.

Series Three-Point Field Goals Made
•    The team that has made MORE three-point field goals has posted a 14-11 record over the last 25 games and a 42-32 record since the introduction of the three-point shot (there have been five games in which the teams made the same number of triples).
•    Navy is averaging 5.32 three-point field goals made a game against the Black Knights and Army is averaging 5.24 triples made a game against the Mids since the inception of the three-point line.

Halftime Leads in the Series
•    The team LEADING at halftime has posted an 11-5 record over the last 16 games and a 60-19 record since 1974 (there have been three games in which the score was tied at halftime).

Rebounding Leads in the Series
•    The team grabbing MORE rebounds has posted a 20-25 record over the last 48 games (there have been three games in which the teams grabbed the same number of rebounds) and a 48-42 record dating back to 1973 (there have been four games with the teams having the same number of rebounds).

Series by U.S. President
•    19 of the last 20 U.S. Presidents have been in office during an Army-Navy game.
•    The only President since the series began to not be in office during an Army-Navy game was Herbert Hoover (1929-33).  He began March 4, 1933, as the President, but Franklin Delano Roosevelt was sworn into office in ceremonies that began at noon prior to the start of that day's 2:30 p.m. Army-Navy game.

Series Venues
•    Alumni Hall will be playing host to its 40th Army-Navy men's basketball game on Saturday.
•    That total ranks first for the most games in the series to be played in a venue.
•    Army's Christl Arena is second with 37 games.
•    The eight different Army-Navy venues is tied for fourth for the most in a Navy series against an opponent.

Army-Navy on the Airways
•    Saturday's game will be the 33rd Army-Navy game to be aired by the CBS Sports Network since its founding as CSTV in 2004-05.
•    Since the 1986-87 season, the series also has been televised by CBS (14), ESPNU (3), Home Team Sports (2) and Direct TV (2).

Army-Navy Head Coaches
•    Former Navy head coach Ed DeChellis retired after coaching in his series record-tying 29th Army-Navy game last season (Navy's Don DeVoe).
•    First-year Navy head coach Jon Perry was alongside DeChellis for 25 of those games.  The Mids posted a 15-10 record with Perry on the staff.
•    Navy head coaches have posted a 6-6 record in their first Army-Navy game.  (Army first-year head coaches are 9-17 in their first Army-Navy game.)
