Fall Season Highlights
Navy turned in another stellar fall season highlighted by its fourth-consecutive Rugby East championship. The Midshipmen have won the crown every season since joining the conference in 2022.
The fall was capped in dramatic fashion when Navy defeated fifth-ranked Army, 21-16, in the annual Army-Navy Star Game. Trailing 13-0 late in the first half and for more than 77 minutes overall, the Mids surged behind a pair of second-half tries before
Avion Ganse broke two tackles and dove across the line at the 77:78 mark for the game-winning score.
Navy also knocked off last season's College Rugby Association of America (CRAA) national runner-up, Life, 29-21.
The Mids placed a league-best 11 athletes on the All-Rugby East teams, highlighted by
Andrew Baublitz,
Roanin Krieger,
Edmund Soeder,
Michael Strehle and
Austin Taylor earning first-team honors.
Krieger led Rugby East in scoring (77 points) for the third-consecutive season. He totaled 26 conversions, five penalty kicks and two tries against conference opponents. Krieger is the program's all-time leading scorer with 591 career points.
Baublitz, Krieger and
Max Smith tied for the team lead with four tries apiece during the fall.
Navy's defense was stout throughout the fall, holding five of its six opponents under 20 points.
