Women’s Golf Opens Spring at El Campeon Collegiate

Navy Heads to Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., for Lehigh-Hosted Tournament

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Starting its spring season, the Navy women's golf team will compete Monday and Tuesday in the El Campeon Collegiate, hosted by Patriot League counterpart Lehigh at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
 
Being played on the par-72, 6,109-yard El Campeon course, the 54-hole tournament opens with two rounds on Monday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start, while the final round on Tuesday is slated for an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.

The Course
El Campéon, built in 1917, is one of the South's oldest golf courses. It was designed by Chicago-based course architect George O'Neil, with further enhancements in 1926 by Charles E. Clarke of Troon, Scotland.
 
The Field
In addition to tournament host and Patriot League rival Lehigh, the Mids will see competition from Bellarmine, Bethune-Cookman, Bucknell, Longwood, Murray State, North Dakota, North Dakota State, Providence, UIC and USC Upstate.

Last Time Out
Led by junior Emma Tang claiming the individual medal, Navy closed out its fall slate with a fourth-place finish at the 2025 Lehigh Invitational in Bedminster, N.J. … The Mids opened the event Saturday by shooting a 19-over par 307 to end the first round in third place among a 15-team field, while a 28-over par 316 team score in Sunday's second round found the Mids finishing fourth via a weekend total of 47-over par 623, 14 strokes behind first-place Lehigh … Starting the event with a round of 73 on Saturday before shooting 74 in Sunday's action, Tang wrapped up the weekend with a 3-over par 147 score that matched Old Dominion's Puneet Bajwa, with Tang earning the individual medal via a scorecard tie-breaker. Tang's win marks her program-record third career individual medal … Finishing as the second-best golfer in Navy's lineup, freshman Angelina Kim posted rounds of 76 and 80 to garner a weekend score of 12-over par 156 and a share of 16th on the leaderboard.
