Men’s Tennis to Face Mount St. Mary’s and Monmouth Saturday

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Two matches are on the docket for the Navy men's tennis team on Saturday as the Mids (6-4) will play host to Mount St. Mary's (2-0) at 5 p.m. at the Tose Family Tennis Center in Annapolis and play a 6 p.m. match at Monmouth (2-0).  The Navy at Monmouth match will be played at the Park Avenue Tennis Center in Oakhurst, N.J.

Navy
The Mids split their four matches last week as they defeated Longwood (5-2) and Hofstra (7-0) and lost to Morgan State (4-3) and George Mason (4-3). 

Aniketh Ayinala won all three of his singles matches last week with George Cutone and Jake Young each posting 2-0 records in doubles.

Mount St. Mary's
The Mount has started the 2026 calendar year with a 7-0 loss to Bucknell and a 7-0 loss to Penn State.

Mount St. Mary's compiled a 13-7 record a year ago and finished Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play with a 5-3 record.  The fourth-seeded team in the conference tournament fell in the quarterfinal round of the event.

Navy and Mount St. Mary's have met in 13 of the last 15 seasons (all but 2015 and 2021).  The Mids won a 4-3 decision last year to improve their record to 23-0 in the series.

Monmouth
The Hawks have won both of their dual matches this season, winning a 6-1 decision over Rider in the fall and beating Quinnipiac by the score of 5-2 last weekend.

Monmouth posted an overall record of 19-4 last season and won all three of its Coastal Athletic Association regular season matches.  The Hawks received the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament and advanced to the semifinal round of the championship.

The teams have split the six prior matches in the series, with Monmouth winning by scores of 4-0 in 2024 (at Monmouth) and 5-2 in 2025 (in Annapolis).
