Wrestling Welcomes Bucknell on Senior Day

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy wrestling team (5-4, 2-1 EIWA) returns home for the first time in three weeks for Senior Day as it plays host to Bucknell (5-9, 3-1 EIWA) on Sunday at Alumni Hall. The Senior Day festivities will begin at 1:45 p.m., with the meet starting at 2 p.m.
 
Sunday's dual will be streamed on the Navy Athletics YouTube channel with Tim Nolan and Jay Antonelli on the call.
 
Accessing the Naval Academy
• Vehicle access to the U.S. Naval Academy is restricted to drivers with a Department of Defense ID card. All other visitors must park outside USNA grounds.
• Fans can either walk through Gate 1 security checkpoints or take complimentary shuttles from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
• Anyone 18 or older must present a Real ID or passport. Visitors 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
• Shuttles will operate from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday from the stadium's Blue/West parking lot (press box side), accessible via Gate 5 off Taylor Avenue. Parking is $10.

Last Time Out
Navy posted a dominant weekend in its most recent duals, defeating Bloomsburg, 31-10, on Jan. 23 and American, 34-3, on Jan. 24. The victory over the Huskies marked the Mids' first road win of the season.
Against Bloomsburg, Navy sent out a young lineup with seven Midshipmen making their dual-season debut. The Mids won seven bouts over the Huskies, including five by bonus points.
Navy followed with a commanding performance against Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) foe American, winning nine of the 10 bouts and collecting five bonus-point victories.
 
Recognizing the Class of 2026
Navy will recognize its eight seniors: Mason Krulijac, Frank Antonelli, Devon Deem, Brendan Ferretti, James Latona, Jacob Lucas, Venumadhava Mirel and Kamen Smith. The senior class has combined for 186 individual wins, including 39 falls.
 
Navy Notes
• After starting the season 2-4, the Mids have won three-consecutive duals to move above .500 for the first time this season.
• Navy's five victories this year have each come by at least 14 points.
• The Midshipmen are 2-1 on their home mat, with the lone loss coming to 21st-ranked Pittsburgh in the season opener (20-12).
• Danny Wask (174) and Dylan Elmore (165) are tied for the team lead with 17 wins apiece.
• Wask is 8-0 in dual meets this season, including seven-straight by bonus points. It marks the second-consecutive season he has reached eight dual wins.
• Daniel Williams (184) returned to the lineup two weeks ago and defeated 22nd-ranked Caleb Campos in the win over American.
• Zyan Hall set a career high with four tech fall victories this season after dominating American's Teage Calvin, 16-0.
• Hall has won five-consecutive matches, including three by bonus points (two tech falls, one fall).
• Jonathan Ley has set career highs in wins (16) and major decisions (3) in a season.
• Brendan Ferretti leads the team with six falls this year.
• Wask, Hall and Ley are each 3-0 in EIWA duals this season.

Scouting Bucknell
• Bucknell enters the weekend with a 5-9 overall record and a 3-1 mark in EIWA action.
• The Bison have dropped their last two duals to Army (23-12) and Lock Haven (19-15).
• Bucknell is 0-5 in duals against National wrestling Coaches Association-ranked opponents this season, with most of those losses being extremely close: 10th-ranked Virginia Tech (19-12), 18th-ranked Oklahoma (18-12), 23rd-ranked Wisconsin (19-15), 20th-ranked Pittsburgh (18-13) and 20th-ranked Cornell (26-9).
• The Bison are 2-4 on the road this year, with their last road win coming in a 39-3 result over Long Island on Jan. 4.
• Bucknell has six wrestlers ranked in the latest InterMat rankings, led by Noah Mulvaney (165) and Myles Takats (174), who are both ranked 21st.

• The Mids and Bison have met 28 times in a series that began Jan. 6, 1979.
