AIKEN, S.C. //  Seniors Chip Deegan (Newport Beach, Calif.) and Jack Tarzy (Medford, N.J.) finished the 54-hole Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate under par, while leading the Navy men's golf team to a seventh-place finish with an 18-over par 858 (280-276-302) at the Palmetto Golf Club Tuesday afternoon.

Deegan and Tarzy were in the thick of it throughout the two-day tournament, shuffling amongst the top 11. Deegan started the tournament red hot, turning in a 4-under par 66 in Monday's opening round that featured an eagle on the 14th hole. He closed out the day with a 2-under par in the second round. He came back on Tuesday to post a 2-over par 72 to finish out the tournament in a tie for fourth place with a 4-under par 206.

Tarzy also had a strong opening day, turning in a 3-under par 67 in the first round, followed by a 4-under par in the second round. He fell back in the standings on Tuesday, capping the tournament with a 6-over par 76. Tarzy, however, remained under par for the tournament at -1 (209), just a stroke out of the top eight.

Hudson Mitchell (Fr / Pensacola, Fla.) recorded bookend 75s (+5) around a second-round 1-over par 71 to finish the tournament tied for 49th with an 11-over par 221.

Rounding out the team marks for Navy were Kaden Ausen (So / Puyallup, Wash.) and Danny Auffant (Jr / Bellevue, Wash.) who tied for 68th with a 20-over par 230. Ausen was fantastic in the second round where he shot a 1-over par 71, while Auffant opened the tournament with a 2-over par 72.

As a team, Navy shot par (280) in the opening round which was the third-lowest score over the first 18 holes. The Mids finished out the first day in second, as their second-round 4-under par 276 was tied as the lowest round of the afternoon. The Mids finished in a tie for seventh alongside Boise State, the highest-ranked team in the field (#106).
