BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Coming off a stellar weekend of results at the 2026 Temple Invitational, the first varsity eight crew from Navy women's rowing was announced on Tuesday as the Patriot League Boat of the Week. The Mids collected victories over Delaware, Fordham, Georgetown, Monmouth and Temple over two sessions of racing on the Schuylkill River on Saturday.
Navy's first varsity eight was dominant in its two performances on Saturday as it opened the day with a 9.98-second margin of victory over the field of Temple, Delaware (+14.53 seconds) and Georgetown (+16.93 seconds). The Mids clocked in at 6:21.53, while the Owls finished runner-up with a 6:31.51 time. In the afternoon session of racing, Navy was challenged a bit more by the trio of Fordham, Temple and Monmouth. The Mids were up to that task and collected an open-water win of 4.46 seconds over Fordham, 6:26.23 to 6:30.69; Temple was 9.09 seconds back with Monmouth 13.85 seconds off Navy's pace.

This is the first Patriot League weekly award for Navy women's rowing this spring.
The Mids will be back in action this Saturday as part of a tri-meet at Overpeck Park in Leonia, New Jersey. The Columbia Lions will host the contest that'll feature Navy, as well as Notre Dame.
