Head Coach Keith Puryear Comments
"Today was a tough, gritty match. Going from temps in the 40's-50's to close to 90 degrees was an adjustment for both teams. This Fairfield team was well-coached and will be challenging for their conference championship. I thought they came out strong with energy in the doubles to get the point.I would have loved to have not lost the doubles point, but, after losing it, I liked the way we bounced back in singles. We were able to capture a few tight first sets, swing the momentum, and maintain it throughout the rest of the match. Looking to the challenge we will face tomorrow against UNC Asheville, another sure-to-be-well coached team. We're looking forward to a good battle."
