2026 MASC All-Academic Team

Navy Squash Recognized for Academic Success

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Navy's Alexander Orr (Sr / Haverford, Pa.), Matthew Kang (Jr / Malvern, Pa.), Wenqing Tang (So / Villanova, Pa.), Avinash Uppuluri (So / Short Hills, N.J.) and Christian Graziano (Fr / Greenwich, Conn.) have been named to the 2026 Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference All-Academic Team it was announced on Friday.

The Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference is the first squash-specific collegiate athletic conference in the United States and was officially sanctioned by the College Squash Association Board of Directors in May of 2019. The conference includes Dickinson, Drexel, Franklin & Marshall, MIT, Navy and Virginia. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.50 cumulative GPA.

Orr, a four-time selection for the MASC All-Academic Team, has been a standout in the classroom since his arrival in the fall of 2022. Orr boasts a 3.81 grade-point average as a member of the honors program in naval architecture and marine engineering. He is ranked among the top 15 percent in his class of 1,088 students in Academic Order of Merit and the top 20 percent in Overall Order of Merit. He's been named to both the Commandant's and Dean's List multiple times.

A data science matjor, Kang has been named to the MASC All-Academic Team three times. He has put together a 3.97 GPA over five semesters at the Academy and currently ranks among the top 4 percent in his class of 1,090 students in both Academic and Overall Order of Merit. He is also among the top 6 percent in Military Order of Merit. Kang has been honor multiple times as a member of the Superintendent's and Commandant's Lists.

Tang, who was named the MASC Co-Player of the Year earlier in the week, has the same discipline in the classroom as he does on the court. A nuclear engineering major, Tang owns a 3.93 grade-point average and has been named to the Superintendent's, Commandant's and Dean's List since his arrival in the fall of 2024. He ranks among the top 7 percent in his class of 1,138 students in both Academic and Overall Order of Merit. This is his second MASC All-Academic citation.

Uppuluri, a two-time MASC All-Academic Team selection, has produce a 3.90 GPA in foreign area studies (Asia). He has been named to the Superintendent's, Commandant's and Dean's List during his time at the Naval Academy and is ranked among the top 10 percent in his class of 1,138 in both Academic and Overall Order of Merit.

Making his debut on the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference All-Academic Team, Graziano posted a 3.95 GPA in his first semester at the Naval Academy and has selected operations research as his major moving into his second year. He is ranked among the top 4 percent in his class of 1,182 students in both Academic and Overall Order of Merit.

Tang, Orr and Graziano also enjoyed an outstanding season on the court where each of the three garnered All-Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference recognition.
