STANFORD, Calif. – The Navy women's golf team shot a 12-over par 296 in the second round of the NCAA Stanford Regional on Tuesday, improving upon its performance from the previous day to move up the leaderboard in Stanford, Calif.
Competing at the par-71, 6,267-yard Stanford Golf Course, the Midshipmen cut 14 strokes from their opening-round score to currently hold a two-day total of 38-over par 606 (310-296), putting the team in a tie for 11th place alongside South Dakota State.
Senior
Sue Lee continued to pace the Mids, shooting her second consecutive round of 75 to tie for 45th place at 8-over 150.
Junior
Keira Howard and sophomore
Vivian Cressman fueled Navy's second-round improvement, with each firing a 2-over par 73 to bounce back from opening rounds of 80. Both players sit tied for 51st overall at 11-over par 153 alongside their teammate, sophomore
Megan Kirkpatrick, who carded a 4-over par 75 on Tuesday after opening the regional with a 78 on Monday.
Rounding out the lineup, junior
Emma Tang recorded a 77 for the second-straight day to sit tied for 55th at 12-over par 154.
Regional host Stanford has dominated the team competition, leading the field with a two-day total of 26-under par 542 (275-267). Meanwhile, New Mexico State's Emma Bunch, who is competing as an individual, holds the player leaderboard's top spot at 9-under par 133 (64-69).
Navy concludes regional play on Wednesday, with tee times starting at 11 a.m. ET.
