PRINCETON, N.J. - The talented pair of heavyweight rowers
Ben Vogel and
Nathaniel Duffy have been selected to participate in the upcoming USRowing Under-23 Selection Camp. Vogel, a May graduate of the Naval Academy, and Duffy, a rising senior with the Navy rowing program, will have the opportunity to extend their 2026 competitive season with action at the selection camp and potentially internationally as spots for the American entries at the 2026 World Rowing Under 23 Championships, scheduled for July 23–26 in Duisburg, Germany are up for grab.
Both Vogel and Duffy were recently honored by the Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA) as 2026 Empacher-IRCA All-Americans for their efforts this spring at Navy. Vogel, a native of Arlington, Virginia, concluded his collegiate career with two selections to All-American teams as he garnered first team accolades in 2026 following an honorable mention nod in 2024. Throughout his time rowing with the Mids, Vogel appeared in 28 races, including 21 with Navy's first varsity eight crew.
Duffy, a Fairfield, Connecticut native, is also a two-time Empacher-IRCA All-American as he has been named to the second team following his sophomore season in 2025 and again this past spring after his junior campaign. Over his first three seasons suiting up with the Mids, Duffy has competed in all 22 races, each time as a member of the first varsity.
Vogel and Duffy are aiming to make the United States' Under-23 National Team and follow in the steps of Matt Lexa ('25), who earned his way into a spot with the American men's eight crew last year. At the 2025 Under-23 World Rowing Championship in Poznan, Poland, Lexa rowed with the United States' top crew and placed fifth in the world.
