ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy men's soccer team picked up a pair of weekly conference awards on Monday afternoon, as sophomore Sam Clark was named the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week while freshman Cohen Nance earned the league's Rookie-of-the-Week honors.
 
The duo was crucial to Navy's 3-0 victory over Presbyterian last Monday and a scoreless Saturday draw against Temple, as Clark posted back-to-back shutouts while Nance tallied a goal scored and six shots.
 
Clark collected four saves on the week, tallying the first and second clean sheets of his college career. The sophomore registered two saves in the victory over Presbyterian before making two more in the tie with Temple. Clark has now posted 247:46 consecutive scoreless minutes in net, dating back to the first half of the Aug. 28 game against George Washington.
 
Nance continued the strong start to his freshman year last Monday against Presbyterian, as he scored the Mids' third goal on a cross from Will Cawlfield at 82', finishing with four shots on the contest while logging 52 minutes. The freshman then played 23 minutes against Temple, notching two more shots.
 
The awards mark the first Patriot League weekly honors for Clark and Nance, and are the Mids' second and third weekly awards of the season after Nick Gallucci was named Patriot League Midfielder of the Week on Aug. 24.
 
Navy opens a three-game road swing on Tuesday with a 7:00 p.m. contest at Mount St. Mary's.
