Ashinhurst Named CSFL Offensive Player of the Week

Annapolis, Md. -- Ashinhurst Named CSFL Offensive Player of the Weeklast Sunday, senior quarterback Chris Ashinhurst (Stafford, Va./North Stafford) was named the Collegiate Sprint Football (CSFL) Offensive Player of the Week.
Ashinhurst spurred the Navy offense that ended the day with 377 yards of total offense as he completed 20 of his 36 pass attempts for 264 yards. In the fourth quarter, Ashinhurst sealed Navy's fourth consecutive win over Army when he connected on a 64-yard scoring strike to senior Adam Matthews to give the Mids their 14-0 victory.
Ashinhurst, the two-time CSFL MVP, is averaging 208 passing yards per game and has thrown five touchdowns to help the Mids own a 3-0 record this season.
Navy will kickoff CSFL play on Friday, Oct. 10, as the Mids take on Cornell in Ithaca, N.Y. at 7 p.m.
