ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Nearly 100 children attended the inaugural Navy Basketball FallFest last night, hosted by the Navy men's basketball team and the Naval Academy Athletic Association. The event was put on free of charge at the Roger "Pip" Moyer Community Recreation Center at Truxtun Park and the team and coaching staff spent time mingling with fans, playing games with kids and hosting an autograph session.

"It was a fun event to be a part of and it's important for us to get out in the community and visit with our fans. It was nice to get out and meet our fans before practice starts on Friday and we want to thank them all for coming out," said Navy head coach Ed DeChellis. "We wanted to let our fans know that we appreciate the excitement they bring to Alumni Hall and it's just another way to stay connected with the community and let them know that we appreciate them. I know the guys on our team had a lot of fun tonight."

The evening was started with the Navy basketball players shooting around and playing with the kids in attendance, before DeChellis spoke to the group and introduced the team and coaching staff. The event finished with a round of games and drills and then an autograph session.

Navy's home opener will be on Sunday, November 13 against Penn State-Altoona, beginning at 4:00 pm. Tickets are available for as little as $3 and can be purchased online at NavySports.com or by calling 1-800-US4-NAVY.
