The Collegiate Sprint Football League has tabbed Navy running back Eric Wellmon (Jr., Wallkill, N.Y.) as its offensive player of the week in Tuesday's weekly award announcements.

The junior running back outdid his strong week one performance with a career-best outing against Mansfield on the road in Navy's come from behind victory on Saturday. With his team trailing 14-6 at halftime and only 24 yards to his name, Wellmon responded by rushing for 200 yards and three touchdowns over the second half as the Mids ended up winning, 26-14. In the third quarter alone, Wellmon was involved in 11 of the Mids' 16 offensive plays and rushed for 151 yards and all three of his touchdowns. His 224 rushing yard total is a career-high, while his three touchdowns tie a career-best.

This is the first time that Wellmon, a 2013 All-CSFL second team honoree, has been named the CSFL Offensive Player of the Week in his career.

Wellmon and the Mids will be back in action this Saturday night with a game against the Quakers of Penn. Kickoff in the matchup of 2-0 unbeaten squads is slated for 7 p.m. at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
