Gennicks Named CSFL Most Valuable Player

Navy’s Hunter Gennicks was tabbed the 2025 CSFL Most Valuable Player.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) announced its 2025 Most Valuable Player and Navy sprint football's Hunter Gennicks was selected. The MVP was chosen by a vote from the league coaches, who selected from the conference major award winners. Gennicks helped the Midshipmen win the 2025 CSFL Championship.

In late November, Gennicks was tabbed the 2025 CSFL Offensive Player of the Year. In addition, he was named 2025 First Team All-CSFL as a running back.

Gennicks becomes the fourth Midshipmen in the last five seasons to earn CSFL MVP accolades, joining defensive back Adam Weissenfels ('22) who earned the award in 2021, running back Alex Totta ('23) who claimed the honor in 2022, and quarterback Brandon Atwood ('24) who received the accolade in 2023.

Additionally, Gennicks is the 10th Navy student-athlete to be named CSFL Most Valuable Player since 2004.

Gennicks earned First Team All-CSFL for the second consecutive year. The junior played and started all eight games at running back, finishing the season with 171 carries for 1188 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns on the ground. He averaged 148.5 rushing yards per game with 6.9 yards per carry. Additionally, Gennicks added 11 receptions for 74 yards and a pair of receiving TDs. He was responsible for 15 of Navy's 45 touchdowns scored during the season.

Navy finished the 2025 season 8-0 overall, winning the CSFL Championship. The championship gave Navy its 41st conference championship overall and the 34th outright title in program history. It was the fourth conference championship for the Midshipmen in the last five years.
