After stepping away from competition for the Thanksgiving holiday, the Navy wrestling team (4-0, 0-0 EIWA) returns to action on Friday when it travels to Las Vegas, Nev. to compete in the 2016 Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. The Las Vegas Convention Center will serve as the host venue for the two-day tournament slated to begin Friday at 9:00 am PT / 12:00 pm ET. The CKLV Invitational is one of the top annual events that highlights some of the nation's best wrestlers. This year's field features 35 teams, including nine programs ranked among the top 25 in the country and another four, including Navy, who are receiving votes. Additionally, nearly 70 ranked wrestlers will be in action.


THE SCHEDULE
Friday, December 2:
9 am PT / 12:00 pm ET: Pigtail Round, Round One, Round Two, Consolation Pigtails, Consolation Round One and Consolation Round Two.
6 pm PT / 9 pm ET: Quarterfinals and Consolation Round Three

Saturday, December 3:
9 am PT / 12:00 pm ET: Consolation Round Four
10 am PT / 1:00 pm ET: Semifinals and Consolation Round Five, Consolation Semifinals, Consolation Finals (5th & 6th, 7th & 8th)
3 pm PT / 6:00 pm ET: Championship Finals (First and Second and Third and Fourth)

More on the CKLV Invite
• This will be Navy's ninth overall appearance at the CKLV Invitational and third under head coach Joel Sharratt.
• Last season, the Mids placed 21st among the 40 teams who competed with Jadaen Bernstein taking four at 174 pounds and 2016 graduate and All-American Mathew Miller finishing sixth at 184 pounds.

Navy Notes
• Navy's lineup this weekend will feature: Brant Leadbeter (Jr. / Owings, Md.) at 125 pounds, Cody Lambert (So. / Tulsa, Okla.) at 133 pounds, Jared Prince (Fr. / Safety Harbor, Fla.) at 141 pounds, Corey Wilding (Jr. / Pittsburgh, Pa.) at 149 pounds, Zach Elvin (Fr. / Harrisburg, Pa.) at 157 pounds, Drew Daniels (Jr. / Overland Park, Kan.), two-time NCAA qualifier Jadaen Bernstein (Jr. / Glen Gardner, N.J.) at 174 pounds, team captain Ryan Harman (Sr. / West Linn, Ore.) at 184 pounds, Steban Cervantes (Jr. / Chula Vista, Calif.) at 197 pounds and Ethan Stanley (Sr. / Saugerties, N.Y.) at heavyweight.
• Two Navy wrestlers have won at least 10 matches this season, while another five have won nine. Sophomore 141-pound Nicholas Gil leads the team with 14 wins this season, but will stand aside as freshman Jared Prince will represent the Mids at 141 pounds. Ranked 18th nationally, he has produced a 9-2 record this season and heads into the weekend as the #7 seed at the CKLV Invitational.
• Junior 174-pound Jadaen Bernstein is making his third appearance at the CKLV Invitational and is looking to improve upon his fourth-place showing a year ago. He stands 10-1 this season and is ranked 11th nationally. He will head into the weekend as the #6 seed.
• Junior 197-pound Steban Cervantes captured the Navy Classic title two weeks ago, marking his first collegiate crown. He is unranked and unseeded going into the tournament and stands 9-2 this season.

• The Midshipmen will face EIWA foe American in dual action on Friday, Dec. 10 at Mount St. Joseph's High School in Baltimore beginning at 5:00 pm.
