Looking to bounce back from its first loss of the season, a 23-9 blemish against seventh-ranked Lehigh last weekend, the Navy wrestling team (6-1, 1-1 EIWA) will play host to Duke (2-4, 0-1 ACC) in nonconference action on Sunday at 2:00 pm at Wesley Brown Field House in Annapolis.

Navy Notebook
• The Mids had jumped out to a 6-0 dual record before succumbing to #7 (then #8) Lehigh a week ago Friday at Alumni Hall ... the Mountain Hawks won seven matches en route to a 23-9 victory, however, six of the 10 bouts were decided by three or fewer points with Navy coming away with wins in just two of those matches.
• Among the Navy wins was the 7-5 upset by then unranked Jared Prince against #9 Randy Cruz at 141 pounds ... it was Prince's first collegiate win over a ranked wrestler.
• Prince was rewarded for his efforts by entering the national rankings this week at #20 according to Intermat ... additionally, he is #23 in the first wrestling coaches' panel rankings of the year which were released on Friday morning.
• A two-time NCAA qualifier, Jadaen Bernstein moved up a spot to 17th in the Intermat rankings at 174 pounds ... Bernstein had anticipated a dual match against #6 Ryan Preisch of Lehigh, but instead got a scrappy Chase Gallick who challenged the Navy junior to the closing whistle with Bernstein escaping with a 15-12 win ... not only will Bernstein get another crack at wrestling a ranked wrestler on Sunday, he will look to avenge an earlier loss this season at the Southern Scuffle against #15 Connor Bass of Duke ... Bernstein, meanwhile, is #16 in the wrestling coaches' panel rankings, while Bass is just ahead at #15.
• Steban Cervantes earned the Mids' third win against Lehigh with a 9-3 decision over Ben Haas ... Cervantes has been stout for Navy at 197 pounds, boasting a 15-6 overall mark that includes a flawless 5-0 mark in dual action ... he has secured a #23 ranking in the wrestling coaches' panel rankings.
• Navy is hopeful for Michael Coleman's return on Sunday ... the junior 184-pounder suffered an injury at the Navy Classic that has sidelined him since Nov. 19.
• In dual action this season, Navy has not lost a match at 141, 174 or 197 pounds ... the Mids have lost just once at 157 and 165.

A Look At Duke
• Duke enters Sunday's match with a 2-4 overall record after dropping a 25-11 decision to #22 Appalachian State last week. All four of Duke's losses have come against top 25 programs - Oregon State (22-20), Wisconsin (25-17), NC State (34-6) and Appalachian State.
• Two Blue Devils are currently among the national rankings - 15th-ranked 174-pound Connor Bass and sixth-ranked heavyweight Jacob Kasper.
• Kasper has had a remarkable season, dropping just one match among 21 to date ... he currently owns a 14-match winning streak that dates back to Nov. 20 when he was pinned by Wisconsin's Ben Stone.
• Kasper's 20 wins are four shy of his personal high set during the 2014-15 season and are 10 shy of tying for 10th on Duke's single-season leader board.
• Bass, meanwhile, stands 15-6 overall and is 3-2 in dual action ... he is 4-2 against ranked foes this season, which includes a sudden victory fall (7:20) over the Mids' Jadaen Bernstein at the Southern Scuffle on Jan. 2.

The Series
• Sunday's match marks the 14th meeting between the Mids and Blue Devils in a series Navy has dominated, 12-1.
• The inaugural match in the series was on Feb. 21, 1925, when Navy cruised to a 24-5 victory in Annapolis.
• Navy's only loss in the series was on Jan. 21, 1928, when the Blue Devils delivered a 17-8 loss to the Mids in Annapolis.
• This will be the first meeting between the two programs since Navy scored a 21-14 victory against Duke in Durham on Feb. 13, 2000.
• This will be the first meeting between the two programs in Annapolis since Navy defeated the Blue evils, 34-0, on Jan. 9, 1960.
