ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy varsity offshore sailing team had six crews compete in the Annapolis Labor Day Regatta to start its 2018-19 season.
The Midshipmen had three Navy 44s sailing in the PHRF A2 class. Senior
George Davis (Hartford, Conn.) skippered Integrity and placed sixth out of 10 teams to lead the Mids in the class. Senior captain Vickor Turner (Lincoln, Neb.) skippered Tenacious to an eighth-place finish and Jay Corbett (Sr., Mendham, N.J) guided Defiance to ninth in the class.
In the J/105 class, junior
George Hamilton (St. Louis, Mo.) led his crew on Allegiance to a ninth-place finish in a 16-boat field.
Ethan Falsone (Jr., Edgewater, Md.) captained Dreadnought to 13th in the class, while
Hayden Kuzemchak (Jr., Ligonier, Pa.) led his crew aboard Avenger to a 14th-place finish.
Navy is back in action this weekend with the NASS Race to Oxford on Saturday, followed by the return race, Hammond Memorial Race, on Sunday.
