| Box Score 3 ANNAPOLIS, Md. –– Andrew Hicks (Sr., Haddon Heights, N.J.) and Cameron Kirkpatrick (Sr., Menlo Park, Calif.) combined to win one of the D doubles flight to highlight the efforts of the Navy men's tennis team at the Joe Hunt Invitational that concluded Sunday in Annapolis.

"It was a great weekend of competition for the team," said Navy head coach Chris Garner.  "For many it was their first college tournament. I believe the experience will help the plebe class as they continue to improve this fall.  It was great to see Cam and Andrew's hard work pay off as they won their flight in doubles."
 
Hicks and Kirkpatrick posted a 5-0 record this weekend to win the flight.  All of their matches were close ones and included an 8-6 win in a tiebreaker over Monmouth's Austin Klapman and David Weltz.
 
The highest placing Mids in one of the singles draws were Derrick Thompson (Fr., Towson, Md.) and Jonathan Dollahite (Fr., Orem, Utah), both of whom placed fourth in their respective brackets.  Thompson lost a 6-1, 6-1 decision to Air Force's Isaac Perez in the third-place match of the B flight and Dollahite dropped a 6-4, 6-1 contest to Temple's Michael Haelen in the same round of the E flight.
 
Also advancing to the championship side of a singles draw was Sam Vagner (Fr., Staten Island, N.Y.), who placed eighth in the E flight.
 
Monmouth's Srdjan Jakovljevic defeated George Washington's Zicheng Zeng, 6-4, 6-1, in the championship match of the A singles flight to win the fourth edition of the annual Joe Hunt Invite.
 
Navy will continue its fall season by taking part in the Richmond Invite this coming weekend.
