More on the Mids
• Navy is coming off another thriller that saw it rally from behind to earn a 5-4 victory over No. 19 Williams last Saturday. The Mids needed to win three of their last four matches and did just that with Dylan Sweeney sparking the run with a five-game, come-from-behind win at No. 5. Sophomore Jack Lentz earned a 3-0 sweep at No. 1, leaving senior team captain Senen Ubina to finish off the match. After dropping the first game, Ubina sailed to victory behind three consecutive wins.
• The Mids opened the year with an 11-1 record, winning its first 11 matches before dropping an 8-1 decision to now sixth-ranked Dartmouth on Dec. 1.
• Four players have registered double-figured wins, including Michael Kacergis who has just one blemish next to his name this season at 12-1. Bookends in the lineup, Jack Lentz and Ben Korn have both amassed 11-2 marks, while Senen Ubina captured his 10th victory (10-3) in leading the Mids to victory last Saturday against Williams.
• Dylan Sweeney is looking to join the list of double-figure winners on Sunday, entering the Cornell match with a 9-5 record.
• Dylan Sweeney's win against Williams marked the 67th of his career and moved him in a tie for 13th on the Mids' all-time wins list alongside former teammate Bill Kacergis (2012-16) and Scott Hackman (2002-06). He is three wins shy of becoming just the 12th player in school history to reach the 70-win milestone.
• Senen Ubina stands 11th on Navy's all-time wins leader board with 72, needed two more wins to join the top 10. Classmate Jamie Kjorlien is inside the top 20 with 63 wins. A win on Sunday would put him in a tie for 18th alongside former teammate Randy Beck (2013-17).

More on Cornell
• Under the direction of third-year head coach David Palmer, Cornell heads into the weekend with a 2-7 record. The Big Red will make a stop at Franklin & Marshall Friday afternoon (4 pm) before facing the Mids on Saturday.
• All nine of Cornell's matches have been against teams currently ranked among the nation's top 20, including five of the top six teams.
• Cornell won its opener against Williams (9-0) on Nov. 17, but lost six straight before getting back into the win column on Jan. 18 against Drexel. The next day, the Big Red dropped a tough 5-4 decision to Western Ontario.
• Freshman Nicholas Göth Errington is on a tear with four straight victories, including a five-game triumph to account for the Big Red's lone point in a loss to perennial national contender Trinity. Göth Errington's 5-4 record is tied for the team lead in victories with sophomore Yohann Surti, who sports a 5-3 mark from the No. 9 position. Senior Andy Muran and freshman Charles Culhane are both 3-6 from the top two spots, and V. Luke Park II, who clinched the win against Drexel, also has three victories from the No. 7 position.

The Series
• Sunday's match will mark the 34th meeting between Navy and Cornell in a series that began in 1957.
• The Mids own a 17-16 series advantage, including a 5-3 mark in matches played against the Big Red in Annapolis.
• Navy won 16 of the first 19 matches, however, Cornell won 13 straight including last year's regular-season match, 6-3. The Mids avenged that loss, however, at the College Squash Association Team Championship where they scored a 5-4 victory.
• Nineteen of the 33 matches have played on neutral ground with the Big Red holding a 9-8 advantage in those matches.
• As previously mentioned, this will be Cornell's first trip to Annapolis since Feb. 1, 2003. Navy's home matches against Cornell were in 1981 (W, 9-0), 1982 (W, 9-0), 1990 (L, 7-2), 1992 (W, 8-1), 1995 (W, 7-2), 1998 (L, 6-3) and 2003 (L, 9-0).

Up Next
• Navy plays its final regular-season road match next Saturday when it travels to Philly to battle No. 9 Drexel.
• A series that began in 2019 is knotted up at five wins apiece. Ironically, Navy won the first five matches of the series, while the Dragons have won the last five.
• In matches played on Drexel's home court, the series is split at two wins apiece.
