ANNAPOLIS, Md. –– Eight members of the Navy women's swimming and diving team won an individual event to help the Mids (10-3) to a 135.5-93.5 victory over Richmond (2-6), Friday evening at Lejeune Hall in Annapolis.
Navy totaled 10 wins in the 13 events contested between the teams. Winning two events on the day was
Lauren Barber (Sr., New Wilmington, Pa.), who closed out her dual meet career with 100 career individual event victories.
"I think we did well today," said Navy women's swimming head coach
John Morrison. "After a two-week break from competition, the team stepped up and raced pretty hard from the start to the end of the meet. We definitely saw some positives we didn't see two weeks ago in our first meet after our training trip. And we also saw some things today that we need to continue to focus on with championship season upon us. I am excited for where we are at."
"It was an up-and-down day," said Navy diving coach
Rich MacDonald. "Overall, we dove pretty well. Now we have a couple of weeks to prepare for the conference championship. We are looking forward to refining our respective dive lists to place ourselves in the best position to dive well at the league meet.
