ATLANTA, Ga. -- Navy's Lauren Walsh placed 46th in the preliminary heats of the 100 breaststroke at the NCAA Women's Swimming Championship Thursday morning at the McAuley Aquatic Center on the Georgia Tech campus in Atlanta.

Walsh, who qualified for her first national championship with her winning time at the Patriot League Championship, posted a time of 1:02.10 in the event Thursday.

"We are very proud of Lauren's approach to her first NCAA Championship," said Navy head coach John Morrison.  "She prepared very well, but it wasn't a perfect race.

"Lauren has made a tremendous impact on our program during her four years.  We will definitely be forever thankful for her time at the Naval Academy and can't want to watch her excel in her Navy career."
